Staff Accountant
Job Title: Staff AccountantJob Description The Staff Accountant is responsible for various functions within the Plant Accounting Department, including supporting month-end processes, effective reporting of financial results, performing and reporting various analyses, and assisting with tax requirements as necessary. This role may support multiple plants as needed and work closely with department members to ensure the timely completion of tasks. Additionally, the Staff Accountant may participate in project groups for integration purposes. Responsibilities + Support the month-end financial close process through preparation and posting of journal entries in alignment with accounting policies. + Create daily/weekly/monthly reports around Overtime, Inventory, and Sales variances with a focus on drivers of change. + Actively participate in cross-functional teams, spending time on the manufacturing floor to understand and improve processes/costs. + Perform various ad hoc analyses and reporting as necessary. + Support members of the Plant finance team with Capital expense and Cost accounting functions as needed. + Assist with the review and analysis of financial trends and variances. + Reconcile actual expenses compared to production reporting and recommend improvements to production file costing. + Participate in various integration projects with a focus on efficiency, productivity, and internal controls. + Complete internal and external audit requirements. + Support the Plant Controller in month-end reporting and variance analysis as required. + Participate in the physical inventory process. + Serve as a cross-trained expert on product costing set-up and maintenance. Essential Skills + Proficiency in Accounting, General Ledger, Reconciliation, Month-end processes, and Journal Entries. + Experience with Cost Accounting, Cost Analysis, Expense Analysis, and Audit processes. + Knowledge of Oracle, Inventory, Reporting, Bill of Material, Variance Analysis, Financial Statements, and Fixed Assets. + Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. + Proficiency in creating Pivot Tables. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Hands-on approach to problem-solving and analysis. + Excellent analytical skills. + Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team-oriented environment. + Timeliness in meeting deadlines and due dates. + Excellent customer service orientation, providing friendly, professional, and timely interaction among business partners, co-workers, and external vendors. Work Environment The position is based in an office, requiring attendance 5 days a week during the first shift. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $36.05/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
