Sr. Systems Engineer - Asset Mgmt

Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer – Asset Management Development

Location: Merrifield, VA

Clearance/Eligibility: US Citizen or Green Card/Permanent Resident. Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.



Our client is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the team supporting Software Asset Management Development efforts with the US Postal Service. You will implement and customize ServiceNow modules, use CMDB for asset tracking, and create dynamic dashboards. Your skills in workflows, reporting, automation, and real-time data integration will ensure smooth data synchronization and system integrity. Additionally, expertise in ETL tools, database integration, and user-friendly interface design will improve asset management and compliance.



HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:



- Software Asset Management expertise for implementing and customizing ServiceNow Asset Management modules; and knowledge of CMDB (Configuration Management Database) for asset tracking and integration.



- Proficiency in workflows, reporting, and automation.



- Dashboard development with developing dynamic dashboards with data visualization features such as heat maps.



- Knowledge of integrating real-time data from external databases sources.



- Expertise in implementing drill-down menus and query-based search functionalities.



- Expertise in integrating product software with external databases like WebEOR, SEAM, and OSL via APIs, ETL tools, or data connectors.



- Proficiency in data cleaning, transformation, and consolidation from multiple sources; and skills in ensuring data integrity and consistency across systems.



- Strong knowledge of database systems, including SQL and non-SQL databases; and experience with database integration and querying tools



- Expertise in using ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools to connect and process data between systems with proficiency in ensuring real-time data synchronization.



WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:



- At least 8 years of hands-on experience with a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field or equivalent experience.



QUALIFICATIONS



Software Development and Configuration:



- Software Asset Management Expertise



- Experience in implementing and customizing Asset Management modules.



- Knowledge of CMDB (Configuration Management Database) for asset tracking and integration.



Dashboard Development:



- Skills in building dynamic dashboards with data visualization features such as heat maps.



- Knowledge of integrating real-time data from external databases into software.



- Expertise in implementing drill-down menus and query-based search functionalities.

Data Integration and Management, Data Analysis, ETL Development:



- Proficiency in data cleaning, transformation, and consolidation from multiple sources.

- Strong knowledge of database systems, including SQL and non-SQL databases.



- Experience with database integration and querying tools.



- Expertise in using ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools to connect and process data between systems.



- Proficiency in ensuring real-time data synchronization.



Workflow and Business Process Design:



- Ability to analyze and document existing workflows related to asset movement.



- Experience in redesigning processes to align with organizational goals and compliance requirements.



- Expertise in creating automated workflows to enforce authorization and tracking of asset movements.



- Knowledge of process automation tools and techniques.



Form Design and Standardization:



- Proficiency in designing standardized forms, ensuring usability and compliance with organizational policies.



- Experience with creating digital forms or other form management tools.



UI/UX Design:



- Skills in creating user-friendly interfaces for forms and dashboards, ensuring accessibility and ease of use.



Security and Compliance:



- Expertise in ensuring data security and compliance during integration and system implementation.



- Knowledge of implementing role-based access controls (RBAC).



- Familiarity with organizational policies and regulatory requirements related to asset management.



Training and Support:



- Experience in developing and delivering tool training sessions and standardized processes.



- Ability to create user guides, FAQs, and instructional materials.



Key Tools and Technologies:



- Primary Tools: Asset Management, Workflow Designer, Dashboard Builder



- Database Tools: SQL, APIs, ETL Tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend)



- Visualization Tools: Power BI



- Form Tools: Form Builder or third-party digital form solutions



- Process Tools: BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) or equivalent process-mapping tools



Security Clearance Level:



Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the

completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting



This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the

U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.
