Job Description A large automotive company is seeking a Sr. Structural Engineer to join their Infrastructure Engineering team in Palo Alto with ability to travel to Fremont. This individual will support the design and construction of a variety of new projects and renovations to existing industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities. This role is 20-25% site work and 75% behind a desk. What Youll Do Conduct structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, wood and masonry structures, along with the creation of justifying structural calculations Develop drawings, building information models (BIM), calculations, proposals, and reports. Prepare preliminary designs for quotes. Perform construction administration tasks including review and coordination of RFIs, RFPs, submittal logs, bids, shop drawings, etc. Interact with contractors, fabricators, stakeholders and consultant teams. Provide field support including recording existing field conditions, taking and verifying measurements within project area. Documentation and assessment of existing conditions of a structure using existing documentation as well as field investigations. Coordinate structural design on multidiscipline project teams including Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Piping/Plumbing (MEP) professionals Manage structural projects from estimating through construction We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements 4-5 years of experience as a structural engineer Master's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in CA Experience with SAP or SAP200, RISA 3D, ETABS. Experience with BIM/CAD modeling tools like Revit, Navisworks or AutoCAD for drafting Proficiency in building design codes such as ASCE, CBS, IBC, AISC, ACI, NDS Experience with structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, wood, cold-form steel Experience in structural design of buildings for high-tech infrastructure, industrial, or operational facilities.
