Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager
Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager is to the lead all activities in the source to contract process.  This role will be category focused and ensure that all activities are completed.  This position will need to work closely with stakeholders to ensure that the process is executed to benefit the company.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the S2C Process (Develop Fact Base, Build Sourcing Strategy, Negotiate with Suppliers, Contract Process, Implement Contracts) for the organizationBuild detailed fact base for each category evaluating the market, current AAP spend & Scope, and future opportunitiesCreation of work plans for project specific activitiesConsistently develop sourcing strategies balancing both cost and quality while also championing demand management opportunitiesBuild materials in support of sourcing projects largely from scratch customized to individual project needsLeverage competition wherever possible in the categoryAbility to lead both complex feedback driven negotiations in multi-round sealed bid environment or direct negotiations leveraging dynamic move plansParticipate in contracting process with internal resourceWork with stakeholders across multiple internal groups and be seen by all parties as the leader of the processEngage client groups and build long-term relationships where sourcing manager is seen as a part of the teamProactively engage with business and SS leadership to keep them up to date on progress and results on ongoing basisOther tasks as necessary

Key Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree, with master’s degree or advanced certification (e.g., MBA, CPM, CPSM, CPSC, PMP) preferredA minimum of 7 years of progressively increasing responsibility in Sourcing, Category Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Management Consulting, or business-related operations in a global environment.Deep understanding of category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management principles and applicationAdvanced financial analytical skills and experience in enhancing value through negotiationsStrategic orientation, inquisitive, comfortable with ambiguity, and self-motivated to identify trends and improvement opportunities aligned with business objectives and strategic plansAbility to build effective relationships, influence peers and key stakeholders, and built consensusExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to the given audience, present information in a clear and concise mannerStrong problem solving and analytical skills with ability to extract key themes, determine root causes, develop creative solutions, and craft concise messagesAbility to prioritize, organize, and multitask in a flexible, fast-paced and challenging environmentAdvanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills is highly desiredAdvanced knowledge of current principles, practices, and methods pertaining to sourcing
