Job Responsibilities:
The Sr. Staff Electro-Mechanical Engineer for Thermal Camera is responsible for Electro-mechanical design of thermal imaging camera systems for ADAS and automotive applications. Maintain a thorough understanding of industry best-practices, work to identify strategic competitive gaps and lead cross-functional resolution of competitive gaps and other issues identified in the organization.
Review and analyze product requirements (includes requirements from customer and supplier) and decompose the requirements to the lowest component level engineering.Design next generation of thermal camera/ design for VAVE (cost reduced design)Produce test reports for internal and customer requirements.Conduct problem solving with identified issues in various testing setups and respective products.Mechanical product development of complex opto-electrical assemblies/thermal imaging cameras for automotive vehicle applications.Develop complex electro-mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks tools. Generate drawings and specifications with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to properly define parts for manufacturing and assembly.Development of Far-IR optical assemblies for precise optical alignment and positioning.Conduct risk analysis such as DFMEA/ DRBFM for complex camera systems.Development of environment enclosures, seals, coatings, adhesives and various corrosion protection platings and techniques to survive automotive exterior environments.Generate outlines and direction for electronic PCB integration including thermal management, EMI, interconnect and connector selection.Perform structural and thermal analyses as required to support component and system design optimization.Assist in developing assembly lines, fixtures, and various manufacturing and test equipment.Provide technical interface and input to manufacturing, quality, purchasing, customer, and suppliers to achieve successful completion of component, product and system design objectives within time and cost constraints.Develop test methods, engineering reports, fixture/prototype designs and test execution support for product development.Who we are looking for
Education
Bachelor of Science Mechanical EngineeringExperience
8+ years experience with complex thermal imaging electro-mechanical development including opto-electronics.Extensive experience with SolidWorks or CATIA, FEA, thermal analysis, and creating 2D drawings.Highly knowledgeable in GD&T.Significant knowledge and experience in component fabrication processes for die castings, plastic injection molding, machining, adhesive bonding, electronic motors, optics, geared assemblies, seals, metal stampings, coatings, etc.Experience working with automotive industry design techniques such as FMEA, DFM, and DFSS.LIMITATIONS AND DISCLAIMER
