**Overview**
The Sr. Engineer manages large scale projects, provides expert Engineering guidance to cross functional teams. Activities include; extensive technical writing, proposal contributions, process and procedure development, attending tradeshows, presenting technical presentations for customers, lead teams during machine evaluations providing on-site support, component evaluations and testing, and other engineering support activities.
**Responsibilities**

The Sr. Engineer manages large scale projects, provides expert Engineering guidance to cross functional teams. Activities include; extensive technical writing, proposal contributions, process and procedure development, attending tradeshows, presenting technical presentations for customers, lead teams during machine evaluations providing on-site support, component evaluations and testing, and other engineering support activities.
**TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE**
Develop and maintaining expertise in the Panasonic electronic assembly equipment, process, solutions and software systems.
Perform engineering research, engineering design and development of experimental methods for various technologies including advanced knowledge of statistical processes such as SPC, DOE, TOC,
Technical knowledge includes the entire assembly process including wave soldering, reflow soldering, selective soldering, board handling and transport, AOI (automatic optical inspection) and component mounting.
Provides electrical and mechanical design to adapt machines to meet customer requirements.
Learn and possess a thorough understanding of the products and services offered by Panasonic in great depth, down to specs.
Provide engineering expertise in design and operation of machines and related equipment and the software suite of PanaCIM & DGS.
Work closely with other engineering disciplines to increase machine quality, efficiency and volume.
Become knowledgeable source to support sales and service activities for pre and post sales activities including; installations, presentations, trouble shooting and machine optimization.
Serves as expert consultant for customer product simulations, onsite evaluations and demonstrations, and equipment specifications.
**SOLUTIONS PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT**
Developing solutions products to sell along with continual support of existing products.
Supports the development of our AMS software package.
Creates design specifications, making updates to the software, and providing customer support, implementation and training for service.
Provide support for our six-sigma and lean factory consulting activities.
Attends training at factory and serves as lead engineer during new product release.
**SALES AND SERVICE SUPPORT**
Supports sales force in developing and maintaining account relationships with technical knowledge.
Provides technical training to sales and service individuals.
Leads project teams in the technical aspects of the machine evaluations and advanced implementations working with service and software teams.
Includes coordinating throughput simulations, machine programming and debugging, training, setup and operation of the PFSA machines and systems.
Designing / implementing custom applications, and training is also required.
Interface and provide feedback to the Connect Factory on design and CS organization (Japan) and other engineering support activities.
**INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE/** **COMPETITIVE PRODUCT EVALUATION**
Maintains an extensive knowledge base of the competitions’ offerings by reading trade journals, attending training, trade-shows, interaction with customers.
Responsible for reporting information on a timely and frequent basis to sales team, engineering members and Parent Sales and Design teams located overseas.
Utilizes knowledge to adapt and incorporate design processes to meet or exceed competition or offset perceived advantages with other features or applications.
Represent Panasonic in various industry and trade associations.
Participates in studies on product reliability and breaking new technologies.
**Basic Qualifications**

+ Individual contributor, no direct reports
**Education & Experience** **:** Degree required/preferred
+ BS degree in Engineering or higher (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, etc…)
+ 7 to 10 years electronic assembly experience required.
+ Working knowledge of CAE systems such as Solidworks, AutoCADPRO/E or other 3D modeling software is preferred but not required.
+ Programming experience using Visual Studio 2008 preferred.
+ Statistical analysis part of daily activities. Such as process capability, probability, DOE, TOC, etc
+ Advanced in MS Office Suite and appropriate software skills required such as PowerBI, SharePoint, Macro development
+ Technical expertise in SMT and evolving engineering practices is a must.
+ Extensive use of experimental design is required.
+ Mechanical design including nozzle and various mechanical assembly techniques required.

+ Extensive travel, up to 50% both domestic and international, will be required.
**Salary Range**
$90,000 –$125,000 + Bonus REQ-149932
