The Communication Integrations team is responsible for Smartsheet's integrations with Slack and Microsoft Teams. We empower Smartsheet customers using Slack and Microsoft Teams to take prompt, meaningful actions within their work channels. We remove collaboration obstacles, enhance information sharing, accelerate task execution, and promote seamless teamwork.
You would join a back-end team responsible for the integrations, services, and infrastructure owned by the team, working towards innovative solutions to leverage integrations to fuel collaboration and meet customers where they are.
You will report to our Manager, Engineering located in our Bellevue, WA office, or you may work remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is a registered employer.
You Will:
Build scalable back-end services for the next generation of applications at Smartsheet (Kotlin, Java) Solve challenging distributed systems problems and work with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes) Be a technical leader on our team, implementing features in Kotlin/Java services running on AWS Take part in code reviews and architectural discussions as you work with other software engineers and product managers Take a leading role in designing key areas of scalable, performant systems Mentor junior engineers on code quality and other industry best practices Forge a strong partnership with product management and other key areas of the business Enhance existing application code with new features and strike a balance when making technical decisions (build vs refactor vs simplify)You Have:
5+ years software development experience building highly scalable, highly available applications 5+ years of programming experience with back-end technologies such Java or Kotlin 2+ years of experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.) Experience working with Slack or MS Teams Integrations Experience developing, documenting, and supporting REST APIs Experience with modern web technologies, front-end frameworks and integrating with back-end services A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis
