D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Sr. Purchasing Agent-WR. The right candidate will develop subcontractor relationships to bid on new projects, maintain scopes of work, and track blueprints and design changes. Work on cost saving measures through negotiation and value engineering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Solicit bids from subcontractors, vendors and consultantsDevelop subcontractor relationshipsPre-qualify subcontractorsPrepare vendor contractsNegotiate costs and bids with subcontractorsFind new products and construction techniquesEnsure fast and proper payments to subcontractorsKnow key individuals at subcontractors officesFoster a competitive bidding environment to ensure lowest costs and best valueMaintain and update current budgets Produce various reports to perform budget trackingReview Gross Profit Margins of existing communitiesSetup and monitor option costs and sales pricesSpread revised bids and obtain approval for any price increasesPrepare direct costs analysis and variances for reviewInput original direct costs budgetExecute lot starts and final proof all unit costsMeet with new and current vendors to address questions, discuss changes and pricingCoordinate with other departments, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors as necessaryConducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the companyAbility to travel overnight

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or high school diploma (GED) and five years of related purchasing/estimating experienceAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applicationsProficiency with MS Office and emailAbility to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral visionThe noise level is generally moderate
