Location: Hybrid - occasional on-site presence required at 2500 Meadowbrook Pkwy, Suite F, Duluth, Georgia 30096

Status: Full-time, Regular

Pay: $72,000-$90,000 per year plus annual bonus opportunity

Position Summary: 

This role will work closely with the local Accounting team and also with the Tax department at the parent company; Subsidiary has significant U.S. operations as well as operations in Canada. This is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the U.S. Senior Manager of Sales and Use Tax.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and file property tax renditions and other related filings for the company’s property tax accounts.Prepare and file personal property tax returns accurately and on time.Manage property tax obligations, including coordinating, tracking, and processing payments.Review and respond to inquiries from taxing jurisdictions and support audits as needed.Assist with governmental tax audits (mainly state/local/sales tax), including gathering information and drafting responses  Prepare responses to state and local taxing authorities for all tax correspondence received   Conduct tax research and analysis on state and local tax laws.Coordinate with internal departments (accounting, legal, IT) to obtain information needed to prepare tax analysis for tax compliancePrepare accounting support activities for month end-close as it relates to property tax and sales tax.Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks including, sales & use tax compliance and business licenses.Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting, Taxation, or FinanceDesignation as CPA or CMI is highly preferred but not requiredMinimum of 3-5 years of tax experience in a corporate tax department and/or national CPA firm positionPrior experience in service or retail industries is highly preferred but not requiredComprehensive experience in property tax matters requiredFamiliarity with sales tax regulations and business licenses is preferred but not requiredStrong analytical and organizational skills to oversee multiple work assignments efficientlyAbility to work independently, as well as within a cross-functional project team environment.
