SALARY: $65,000 - $70,000 annually

Job Summary

 

Reporting to the Senior Director of Transitional Housing, the Senior Program Coordinator is an energetic, creative, and diligent team leader that includes Case Managers and Resident Advisors. The incumbent also collaborates with a cadre of specialty staff, including employment/education specialists, housing specialists, youth development staff, and mental health staff.

In addition to being responsible for the site's daily operations, the Senior Program Coordinator is expected to work closely with the Child Protection, Program Compliance, and Data Systems teams to ensure site compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements and manage program metrics. Additionally, the Senior Program Coordinator will work closely with the Facilities staff to ensure the building is well-maintained. Finally, the Senior Program Coordinator will utilize evidence-based and other proven models. The Senior Program Coordinator will be the site champion for these models and will lead their implementation with staff. Overall, the Senior Program Coordinator will lead their team to achieve the goals of ROP and Transitional Housing: stabilize and address any immediate trauma experienced by the youth in our care, maintain housing stability, and assist the youth in advancing towards their individualized goals, including a long-term housing plan, while ensuring the site is well-maintained.

The Senior Program Coordinator must be comfortable in a rapidly changing environment where processes and protocols are being developed and refined as the program operates. Additionally, this position requires independent judgment and proactivity, as the Senior Program Coordinator is responsible for all functions of a stand-alone site. Flexibility, a willingness to be available by email or phone during off-hours, and excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are critical to successfully fulfilling the requirements of this position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

 (Responsibilities to include but not limited to the following) 

 

Program Design and Implementation 

Assists the Senior Director of Transitional Housing (TH) and other senior staff in the evolution of the ROP and Transitional Housing program design, including but not limited to: refining program operations as needed, collaborating with performance measurement and compliance staff to determine programmatic goals and metrics for the program; assisting in refining a program manual and policies to meet the specific needs of the site; and determining staffing and shift structures for the site. 

Collaborates with operations and facilities leadership on the physical development and maintenance of the site. 

Responsible for all congregate care staff and youth in the assigned building. 

Management and Compliance 

Ensures high-quality day-to-day operations of the ROP and TH programs. Effectively plans and manages budget and fiscal processes and ensures the integrity of all budgetary practices.  

Ensures the hiring and training of all staff within the site. 

Supervises and develops a program team with a strong sense of accountability for achieving positive outcomes and complying with CHNY policies and other entities' regulations and requirements. 

Ensures programmatic compliance with regulatory and other requirements. Ensures and/or conducts dry audits of programs and takes a lead role in live audits with funders and other regulatory bodies. 

Maintains program census and ensures that staff-to-youth ratio is met at all times. 

Oversees staff scheduling for the site, maintains program census, and ensures that staff to youth ratio is consistently met. 

Oversees and implements evidence-based models and other proven practices and identifies and meets the training needs of the staff. 

Collaborates with supervisors of specialty staff to ensure staff receive appropriate supervision and clients' needs are met. 

Effectively utilizes data and information systems to evaluate programs and inform decision-making and development of performance strategies. 

Assesses incidents, reviews the appropriateness of incident management, and ensures that all protocols are followed. 

Ensures that all child protection policies and processes are followed with complete accuracy and that the site's culture focuses on child protection. 

Develops and maintains positive relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders.  

Obtain site-specific certifications for the program to correlate with funding requirements. 

Must be willing to work in an environment where precautions for communicative diseases and health concerns may need to be observed and followed. 

Leadership and Coaching 

Manages the performance evaluation and professional development of a team of experienced staff. 

Serves as a champion of new initiatives and evidence-based models implemented within the program site. 

Embraces a data-driven culture that is outcomes-oriented and creatively responsive to programmatic challenges. 

Promotes a healthy, inclusive, equitable organizational culture and a thriving, engaged staff. 

Management and Leadership

Perform other site-specific duties as assigned and needed. 

 

SUPERVISORY DUTIES 

This position supervises Direct Service Managers. 

Oversees staff scheduling for the site, maintains program census, and consistently meets staff-to-youth ratio. 

Works with the Case Management Coordinator and ensures that all case files (electronic and paper) are accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date for all youth. 

Ensures supervision with program staff occurs consistently.
