Sr. Product Manager Cell and Gene Therapy

Position Summary:

The Product Manager, Cell & Gene Therapy will work closely with the product team solving important challenges and will define, develop, and drive product strategy for Cell & Gene Therapy products that offer significant promise to treating life-threatening diseases and that have a clinical impact.  You will be part of a fast-growing segment in the life sciences focused on transforming cell and gene therapy manufacturing workflows though our reagents and tools.  This position is responsible to develop near- and long-term product strategies for the cell and gene therapy product area to drive portfolio growth.  This will include development of product roadmaps, positioning, messaging, competitive differentiation, and enabling the sales and marketing communications teams to ensure they are all aligned on a cohesive message.  In addition, you will collaborate on outbound marketing efforts for the Cell and Gene Therapy suite of products, pricing strategy, market analysis, and training of the sales team on messaging and value propositions.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for Profit and Loss of the Cell & Gene Therapy product portfolio.  Includes ability to develop financial models to support business proposalsResponsible for developing business cases, product requirements for any newly proposed product or business directionRepresent voice of the customer on product development teamsKeep current with the Cell & Gene Therapy market needs through customer visits, conference attendanceResponsible for defining product offering, developing price, promotion, and placement for all products within the portfolio to meet business targetsMaintain competitor profiles, including pricing, positioning, advantages/disadvantages, and marketing activities/strategyDevelop strategic market plans for specific segments, including identifying and understanding target customers and their unmet or under-met needs, understanding barriers to adoption, and developing methods to address, understanding competitive situation, and developing ways to differentiate Bio-Techne’s product offering.Conduct product sales training to relevant sales and marketing teams, globallyManage expenses to budgetPrepare and present quarterly Business Reviews to the management teamMeet quarterly and annual revenue, profitability, and margin goals

Education and Experience:

Requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 1-2 years experience5 years of progressive experience working in the biotech or life sciences industry or academia, marketing, product management, or sales functions in biological sciences preferredExperience, knowledge, and understanding of the Regenerative Medicine Market is highly preferred

Basic, functional knowledge about the Cell & Gene Therapy product(s) and their uses, competitor(s) and their product(s), and the marketplace, as well as the ability to gain in-depth knowledgeAptitude in product/customer/sales/ financial analysis which will lead to defining successful strategies and launching outstanding productsAbility to work independently in order to make the necessary decisions to drive the business forward.Ability to collaborate across business functions to ensure optimal product offering, promotion, and supportAbility to prioritize activities/ requests for the best business outcomeAbility to translate customer requests into addressable customer needs for a product/solutionClear oral and written communication and presentation skills, allowing the ability to communicate professionally across all layers of the organization as well as customer’s and prospect’s organizationsAbility to handle sensitive and proprietary information with discretion and confidentialityAbility to travel Approximately 30% travel, including internationalStrong customer service skills with a proactive approach to clients’ needsEffective presentation and sales skills especially over the telephoneSkilled in identifying and professionally resolving issuesExcellent attention to detail, time management and process managementProficient in the use of computer and mobile applications and software, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, Teams, CRM Salesforce.Ability to analyze and provide qualitative insight for business recommend/solutions.
