Financial Services & Global Pay LaterThe Financial Services team is part of the SMB & Financial Services organization and is responsible for PayPal’s global financial services. Our financial services play a critical role in our customers’ lives and our broader ecosystem. Over 400M consumers and 30M merchants globally have access to our money management, credit & lending, credit card, debit card, and pay later products, which provide them with convenient, flexible, secure and rewarding ways to borrow, save, and spend.
PayPal’s Global Pay Later product is a critical product in our financial services portfolio – it provides consumers flexibility by enabling them to pay over time, either over a short duration time window (Pay in 30/45/60 days) or longer duration time window (Pay in 6/12/18/24 months). The product offering delivers value to merchants by improving checkout conversion rates, increasing average order values, and boosting sales. Our global pay later team is committed to building and delivering delightful experiences and innovative features that reinforce the value of PayPal’s Global Pay Later offering to merchants and the convenience and flexibility to consumers.
Job Description Summary:
As the Sr. Product Manager on our Global Pay Later team, you will be responsible for executing product strategy and roadmap, so we can deliver on our 2025 objectives. Specifically, we have bold aspirations to accelerate our Total Payment Volume (TPV) growth rate, and you will play a critical role on our consumer Global Pay Later team creating experiments and delivering releases that accelerate our growth rate. You will work closely with our design, engineering, program management, data, and legal teams, among other partner teams, to build the capabilities our customers (consumers) desire, to develop innovative features and capabilities, and to differentiate our user experience. You will be responsible for conducting customer research, analyzing competitors and internal data sets, setting goals for releases, creating product requirements, working closely with engineers to ensure requirements are met providing feedback on designs, prioritizing initiatives, designing experiments, analyzing results, and sharing impact summaries with leadership among much more. Your contributions will make it easier for new to PayPal customers globally to get a buy now pay later loan from PayPal and for recurring customers to get additional loans that facilitate their purchase of larger ticket items.
Job Description:
In your day to day, you will:
Meet with prospective and existing customers (consumers) to understand their wants, needs and aspirations when contemplating a buy now pay later purchase
Analyze our competitors to understand their strengths and weaknesses as well as the opportunities and threats that they present to PayPal
Collaborate with other product managers, engineering, design, program management, data, legal and other cross-functional stakeholders to build out and execute a product roadmap.
Create product requirements for our consumer experience
Participate in agile ceremonies to drive the execution and launch of new features and capabilities.
Design and implement experiments to validate a hypothesis or optimize the design, content, and overall user experience
Partner with our commercial leaders to evaluate and prioritize new opportunities, manage request intake and feature scoping
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, computer science, engineering or a related field
5+ years of product management experience
Demonstrated success delivering against product and business objectives
Proven track record of leading cross-functional groups and delivering results in fast-paced, high-growth, and matrixed environments
Demonstrated success scaling existing products
Ability to grasp complex business/technical concepts, user scenarios, and business drivers, address ambiguity and make informed decisions
Exceptional written, verbal, and listening communication skills and proficient in communicating across a range of stakeholders
Strong data and analytical background
Deep empathy and appreciation for customer needs
A team player who puts people first and wants to win as a team
Preferred Requirements
Advanced or master’s degree
Prior product management experience at a technology company
Self-starter that works independently and learns quickly
Experience multitasking and managing multiple releases concurrently
Experience designing simple and intuitive user interfaces and processes
Passionate about the product (PayPal, BNPL) – eat your own dog food
