About the Role
Senior Principal Engineer, Advanced Acoustics, will support the Car Audio Sound Field Control core-team as recognized expert in the technical field of innovative Sound Field Control applications and algorithm development. The primary objective is to realize technology-driven automotive acoustical concepts (such as zonal audio, transaural sound reproduction, noise management, advanced audio processing). These applications and algorithms are applied in new car audio concepts that leverage Harman's brand and technology leadership – and are included into products targeting the global automotive industry.

What You Need
PhD or Master Degree in above mentioned fields and at least 12 years’ experience in audio research and developmentYou have demonstrated a high level of commitment and a proven track record in research, technology development and cutting-edge innovation throughout your career from academic curriculum to contribution in the audio industryExtensive experience working in or with the audio technologyStrong experience with Matlab and professional SW developmentIn-depth experience with acoustical data acquisition, perception of sound transducers, audio system components, etc.Knowledge of features, strengths, and weaknesses of various DSP platforms and algorithm approaches.Basic knowledge of Psychoacoustics and signal processingAbility to communicate advanced and complex concepts and ideas persuasively and concisely to all levels of the business.What is Nice to Have
Passion for acoustics and sound reproduction15+ years of experience is strongly preferred.Automotive experienceExperience in multiple programming languages C#, C++ (e.g. VST)Experience with Adaptive control theory & techniques.Experience working with vehicle networking (CAN, MOST, etc.)Understanding of 3D sound reproduction, wave field synthesis and system tuningExperience developing and debugging software in a real-time, embedded, multiprocessor, multi-interface environment.Troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsWhat Makes You Eligible
