Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is looking for a Senior Business Analyst Lead / Operational Subject Matter Expert in support of an emerging opportunity related to Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) and Electromagnetic Battle Management (EMBM).
The Business Analyst Lead will transform their operational experience and knowledge of Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) into software epics and user stories that can be implemented in software and ultimately realized as capabilities in support of warfighter objectives. The Business Analyst Lead works closely and collaboratively with a government Product Owner to maintain the product backlog.
The ideal candidate will be a cross-functional team player, willing to take on challenges, who collaborates with internal and external teams, and is driven to provide solutions to internal and external customers.
This position is contingent upon program award.
Responsibilities Include:
Decomposes epics, features, and operational use cases into low level software user stories and acceptance criteria that can be configured and developed in Agile development sprintsMaintains and grooms overall product backlog in close coordination with a Government Product OwnerInterfaces on a system and requirements level with the customer on a regular basis; helps translate warfighter point of view into technical statements and vice-versaVerifies that software products meet the intended operational needActs as the ‘Voice of the Customer’ when direct Government participation is unavailable to the development teamWorks with and directly supports multiple Cross-Functional Agile scrum teams to develop high-priority features that meet end-user requirementsAssists in the development of Test Plans and test Scripts that ensure developed software meets the ‘Definition of Done’Assists authoring and development of contract deliverable documentation related to user requirements and user interfacesWorks with stakeholders to elicit, capture and elaborate their requirements, documenting requirements to a level that enables effective delivery of required changes without prescribing solutionsResponsible for validating team work productsWork closely with customer technical leadership to identify and prioritize opportunities to extend current system capabilities and translate those opportunities into a prioritized portfolio of new user capabilitiesBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ experience; or Master’s degree and 3 years’ experienceCurrent U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance (adjudicated within the last 5 years), with ability to obtain a Top Secret /SCI (w/ Polygraph) security clearance5+ years in an Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations, or equivalent role.2+ years performing business analysis, requirements analysis, and agile user story/use case analysis.Knowledge and direct experience of EMS/JEMSO mission and processes.3+ years’ exposure to Agile Methodology, Tools (Atlassian, etc.), Practices, and CeremoniesPrevious experience supporting / briefing Agile Software Demonstration eventsStrong interpersonal and analytic skills; Works well in a team-environmentPreferred Qualifications:
Experience in a key role on previous Agile Software Development teamsExperience with the Atlassian Tool Suite for Backlog Management: Jira Align, Jira, ConfluenceFamiliarity with Cloud technology: Azure and/or AWSFamiliarity with Docker and/or KubernetesExperience working with and managing software requirementsExperience with Software Test procedure development and maintenanceExperience with automated software testing and test software (TestComplete, Robot Framework, etc.)Active Top Secret /SCI (w/ Polygraph) security clearance (or SCI eligible)Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) CertificationPMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)Salary Range: $144,200.00 - $216,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
