Sr. Operations Manager - Soldier Field

POSITION:                         Sr. Operations Manager

REPORTS TO:                    Director of Operations  

FLSA STATUS:                   Full-Time Exempt

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Sr. Operations Manager in Chicago, IL.  Soldier Field is in the fast lane for opportunity and excitement. We are seeking a unique Sr. Operations person to join our Operations team.  The Sr. Operations Manager under general supervision, is responsible for the daily activities required to run, maintain, and service the facility and/or the events. Also, acts as liaison between the facility and clients, ensuring all clients’ requirements are met and facility rules, regulations and policies are adhered to.

Essential Duties:

Act as the main operations point of contact for stadium tenants, ie. Chicago Bears and Chicago Fire

Assists the Director of Operations in directing, supervising and scheduling all aspects of operations, including engineering, building and grounds, construction, technical services, event services, ADA compliance, public safety, custodial/housekeeping services, Sustainability, Emergency Management, landscaping and snow removal

Coordinates the operations activities with all other building departments including but not limited to the General Manager, Event Services (Security, Medical & Ushering), Sales & Marketing (Event Management), Sponsorship, Finance, Grounds Keeper, Parking, Life Safety and Catering & Concessions

Directs, supervises, and schedules Stadium Labor staff, and temporary labor staff on an as needed basis

Responsible for the supervision and guidance of FT/PT labor staff members during set-up, breakdown, changeovers, and upkeep for all events

Directs and coordinates personnel and subcontractors involved in the daily maintenance of the stadium and surrounding parklands

Provide clear, concise and timely communication of directives to all other departments

Manages supervisors in any of the following Operations departments; Housekeeping, Custodial, Washroom Attendants, General Labor, Maintenance, Landscaping and Snow Removal

Schedules and maintains window cleaning operations, restoration, maintenance with Service One and Permasteelisa 

Assist the Director of Operations in assessing and enhancing sustainability initiatives within the stadium and recreational facilities to foster ongoing improvement and professional excellence

Serves as Manager on Duty as required

- Oversees payroll processing for all ASM Global labor staff at Soldier Field, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established protocols

Skills Required: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM's policies and applicable laws.

Demonstrate knowledge of practices and procedures related to event set-up and conversions; typical methods and techniques for cleaning and maintaining the facility equipment; and proper use and care of hand and power tools.

Demonstrate ability to carry out tasks in a reliable, productive and expedient manner and be able to adhere to strict deadlines.

Engage in much decision-making that is generally governed by procedure and guided by policy.

Demonstrate ability to carry out tasks in a reliable, productive and expedient manner and be able to adhere to strict deadlines.

Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.

Work in a fast-paced environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk extensively, occasionally required to kneel, climb to high walkways or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

This position requires work inside and outside of the building and some exposure to adverse conditions.

Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.

Serves as MOD (Manager on Duty) as required

Education And/Or Experience

Bachelor's Degree from technical college with major in Management or Maintenance Engineering.  Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Supervising or Managing in a similar facility.  Additional experience may be substituted for education.  Supervisory experience required.
