Job Description: L3Harris is seeking Chief Instructor Pilot (CIP) candidates who meet our high standards of aviator skills, safety, and professionalism. CIP is responsible for the organization's flight training program in support of the USAF and other programs as required. They provide training and guidance to all students and continuation training to existing aircrew.  Prospective candidates will have demonstrated skills in balancing administrative, tactical, and technical aspects of the position across all aircraft platforms. CIP candidates will be dedicated to continuous improvement and must have the ability to motivate and effectively deliver instruction to USAF transition and undergraduate pilots as well as combat systems officers. Duties will be evenly distributed between flight operation management, flight instruction, and classroom academic instruction. The CIP position may also be contract Evaluator’s for the purposes of DCMA 8210.1D compliance. Work schedule flexibility and extended hours may be required. CIP may be assigned other duties as directed.

Flight Time Requirements:

Minimum of 3,000* hours of total documented flight timeMinimum of 1,500 hours of total fix wing Pilot in Command time

When evaluating the flight time of applicants meeting the basic qualifications, consideration will be given to, among other things, quality, quantity, recent experience, and verifiability of training; complexity of aircraft flown; types of flight operations; and hours flown as PIC in turbine powered aircraft. Applicants invited to interview must provide appropriate documentation of all flight hours.

Qualification Requirements:

Experience as a Department of Defense Flight Instructor/EvaluatorAir to Ground ordnance delivery and/or Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) flight experience or,AT-802F aerial tanker experience may be considered for this requirement

Preferred Qualifications:

FAA Tailwheel EndorsementFAA NVG Instructor EndorsementMinimum of 300 hours of AT-802 series experienceAT-802 Factory Authorized IP certification

Other:

FAA Second Class Medical certificate will be required prior to any offer of employment being issued. Active Department of Defense Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain that clearance.Criminal history records check and a background check will be performed
