The Sr. Medical Science Liaison, Medical Affairs (Remote) role includes field-based thought-leader engagement and medical materials creation, requiring both scientific and clinical expertise. The individual will contribute to execution of critical medical affairs functions, including implementing the strategic medical plan for the US region, managing key thought-leader relationships, disseminating and presenting educational information on Seqirus’ portfolio of influenza vaccines, and responding to healthcare clinicians and disease experts’ inquiries regarding product safety and efficacy beyond what is addressed in the product label.
Medical Science Liaison and External Network Development (40%)
Identify key opinion leaders in infectious disease and cultivate a network of influenza experts within a given geography (TBD) for key areas of scope.Maintain excellent professional relationships with medical and public health experts, government officials, immunization advisory committees, and partner companies. Accountable for engaging and cultivating relationships with leading KOLs to gain contribution/participation in advisory boards, a greater understanding of influenza vaccines, and insights into unmet patient needs.Represent Seqirus at scientific and medical forums, including medical education forums, scientific roundtables, congresses, and symposia.Plan, design, and manage or participate in local, regional, national, and global medical advisory boards, including working with vendor(s) in support of medical affairs strategies.Domestic Travel (~40%)Scientific Expertise and Communication (40%)
Contribute to the development/editing of medical-to-medical education content (in collaboration with the US Medical Director and MSL Lead) to include MSL field materials, FAQs, symposia, advisory board, and training content.Conduct regular and timely medical literature surveillance on recent publications focusing on influenza and influenza prevention & treatment, and in collaboration with the US Medical Director, develop an internal vaccines medical information letter summarizing critical publications and scientific impact.Collaborate with the US Medical Director on the strategy, agenda development, and execution for medical advisory boards and educational symposia.Present data on product/disease areas at internal and external meetings.Develop communication of the scientific platform for all Seqirus products to support and enhance Seqirus’ reputation.Represent Medical Affairs at internal or external meetings, including serving as a Seqirus medical affairs representative at conferences.Serve as a medical resource on the disease area and product portfolio.Maintain a high level of expertise in the disease area.Other Responsibilities (20%)
Execution of educational projects, including gathering of metrics (e.g., CME grants).Facilitate US grant reviews (including IIRs), e.g., patient advocacy groups, educational grants through the grant approval process.As a member of the Regional Medical Affairs team, work together to ensure consistency and compliance in medical decision-making, systems, and processes for Seqirus.Develop and maintain knowledge of US and international pharmaceutical regulations, guidelines, codes of practice, and Seqirus policies related to all medical activities.Accountability
The Sr. Medical Science Liaison is a committed and active member of the US Medical Affairs Team. The Sr. Medical Science Liaison will have primary responsibility for creating and reviewing medical content for field based medical affairs, develop and manage KOL relationships, and play a key role in imparting scientific expertise focusing on influenza, pipeline and disease prevention. All educational and promotional materials must conform to high ethical standards and industry guidelines as well as Seqirus’ policies and procedures.
