Sr. Mechanical Engineer - Offshore Project

We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source Sr. Mechanical Engineer to work for Major Offshore Project. This is a long-term contract role working on a residential basis 5-days per week / 8-9 hours per day. Please see details below:
Title: Sr. Mechanical Engineer
Start Date: Negotiable (typically within 1 month notice)
Duration: 36 months (potential for extension)
Location: Doha HQ with site visits
Working Schedule: 5-days per week / 8-9 hours per day
Qualification
Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering. A chartered engineer is preferred or working towards it.
Experience Minimum 15 years of experience in oil and gas onshore / offshore industry both brownfield and greenfield that include a minimum of 10 years in facilities design (front-end, conceptual, and detailed design) and minimum of 5 years in project execution including construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance (including field troubleshooting). Computer literacy- Ability to operate standard computer software such Microsoft applications. Well conversant with Mechanical design software such as PVElite & CodeCal or equivalent and international codes and standards. Knowledge of rotating equipment. Logic thinking and analytical skills. Good presentation, communication, and written skills. Interpersonal ability to work in multidisciplinary teams. Aptitudes for taking initiatives. Working knowledge of company business processes and regulatory requirements. Managing and measuring work using appropriate metrics and key performance indicators.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Responsible to analyse, determine root cause failure and recommend remedial solutions to ensure proper troubleshooting of reported problems on static equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, flares, filters, various packages, cranes etc. The senior mechanical engineer is required to support maintenance, asset integrity, operations with their daily activities, manage the Concept/FEED/EPC design work for asset development projects carried out by Contractors and that are managed in-house, remaining life and fitness for service assessment, provide all asset related inputs to major project team with respect to mechanical static equipment. Key accountabilities include ensuring the efficient project implementation, proactive facility improvement and technical Integrity in conjunction with QatarEnergy Standards and Shell DEP for the Idd El Shargi’s surface facilities specific to static equipment.
