As a Manufacturing Technical Manager, you will be responsible for bringing new products from engineering to manufacturing. You will be managing high complexity programs of large scale, from prototype to mass production. MTM is the key member of the development team and will be the main interface for worldwide hardware and software engineering teams, and operations team and also our each Contract Manufactures. Drive for end-to-end manufacturing processes ensuring consistency on development & deployment across from SMT, FATP assembly, testing and packing throughout the PDP lifecycle. Sametime you will lead a MTM team as manager, develop team organization strategical priorities, fostering talent growth and scale up talents and Exemplify influential leadership to product teams, driving innovation and efficiency. Always keeping in mind the rapid evolution of manufacturing technologies and methodologies in the smart home industry, balancing immediate operational needs with long-term strategic goals, You'll be expected to create a high-performing, engaged, and resilient MTM team capable of driving manufacturing excellence and innovation at Ring.
Key job responsibilities
- Document current production procedures to e-standardized, and create company standards for improving the production efficiency among contractors/suppliers.
- Collaborate with the quality department to identify and implement ongoing quality improvements.
- Maintain knowledge and technical expertise of current production best practices, tools, and techniques and implement them in a reasonable manner.
- Develop and implement production processes for products, product enhancements, and product changes. Review the design and installation of related fixtures and tooling, as required.
- Develop and implement enhanced production testing of products.
- Minimize overall production costs while maximizing productivity.
- Collect, analyze, summarize, and present production and process data, information, and trends to management.
- Create and maintain accurate and current documentation of tool drawings, design concepts, and orders in accordance with the Product Development and Quality Assurance functions.
- Source new equipment and material suppliers as required.
- Support and review process engineering change notice (ECN) and related Material Review Board (MRB) activities, as required.
- Assist in the evaluation of returned materials/products.
- Review contractor/supplier’s operational facility layouts for process improvement.
- Organize and Support the Manufacturing/Quality System on top of composing the integrative system management.
- Define and focus on different production lines to ensure quality.
- Define and initiate tasks.
- Autonomous planning for team; gives input when requested while defining roadmap.
- Make proposals for problem solving of bottlenecks.
- In-depth technical knowledge; knows the effects of deviations within sub system/module on performance of the total system.
- Lead cross-competency teams for escalation resolution and design improvements.
- Technical team leader that contributes to the development of sub-modules, and has a responsibility for the results of the sub modules.
- Know, understand, define, and improve processes and working instructions.
- Breakdown complex technical or tool problems.
- Able to give direction irrespective of technical certainties within own level of competence.
