Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Channel Operations, the Sr. Manager of Retail Operations and Planning will be the voice of our Retail Operations organization with both domestic (SEA) and Global HQ (Suwon) internal key contacts. As we prepare for product launches throughout the year, this role leads cross-functional collaboration, strategic brief development, communication, risk identification/resolution, and overall operational planning. Attention to detail, driving efficient processes, and project tracking/reporting will be vital pieces of the day-to-day expectations.
This role will be heavily focused on aligning/reporting/tracking operational strategies for product launches across several organization segments. Key points of collaboration at both global and North American levels include (but are not limited to) the following: Product Management, Account Management, Marketing, Merchandising Operations, Fixture Design, Deployment, Digital Experience, Finance, Training, Field Engagement, Field Sales and Sales Enablement.
This individual should exhibit a proven ability to convey complex ideas in simple, effective ways that influence, inform and educate audiences at all levels in the organization. You will interact with Executive Leadership across Samsung, globally and within cross functional areas, to help move Samsung’s retail experience forward. This will include being an advocate for the Retail Operations team, driving organizational understanding of our Retail objectives and targets.
Additionally, you will be required to be nimble and adjust quickly with the needs of a dynamic and quickly evolving organization. The overall vision and objective of this position will be to strive for flawless operational execution and broad communication of key Retail strategies, ultimately bringing them to life in our stores and elevating the consumer experience.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field
8+ years of relevant experience in project management and operations for retail organization(s). Wireless industry a plus.
High School Diploma or equivalent with 12+ years of directly related experience
Strong experience managing complex projects and details & meeting deadlines for multiple concurrent projects
Experience and understanding of the consumer journey, trends and insights
Demonstrated success in working on cross-functional teams with the ability to influence peers and others in order to accomplish objectives of multiple projects
Excellent organizational skills to be effective and efficient. Meticulous attention to detail for production schedules/timelines and accurate communication of relevant information to both internal and agency partners
Ability to make informed recommendations on a thorough understanding and analysis of organizational and business objectives
Experience regularly engaging with Leadership Levels
Must have experience in developing presentations using a variety of PC applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentations
