The Impact of a Sr. Manager, Global Events at Coupa:
At Coupa, we create events that inspire, connect, and drive meaningful business outcomes. As Senior Events Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role in bringing these experiences to life.
As Senior Manager, Global Events, you will lead the planning and execution of high-impact marketing events, including the annual Coupa Inspire conference, regional tentpole events, and executive engagements. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at cross-functional collaboration, and is passionate about creating seamless, engaging event experiences. You'll oversee logistics, budgets, and stakeholder coordination while driving innovation, efficiency, and brand impact. Your work will ensure events are delivered flawlessly, maximizing value, streamlining processes, and reinforcing Coupa’s industry leadership. If you’re a strategic thinker who loves bringing events to life, we’d love to hear from you!What You'll Do:Partner with the Sr. Director, Global Strategic Events to craft engaging attendee experiences, drive pipeline growth, and hit registration goals.Lead the planning and flawless execution of major events, including our global customer event Inspire, North American Coupa Executive Summits, and support other marketing events such as Inspire World Tour and Sales Kickoff.Manage timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional workstreams to ensure seamless coordination.Source and manage vendors, from venues and technology partners to agencies and contractors.Oversee internal communications, attendee lists, keynote and breakout session content, venue logistics, and ancillary events.Manage complex budgets, negotiate high-value sponsorships, and ensure cost efficiency.Implement risk management strategies, sustainability initiatives, and event metrics tracking to optimize ROI.Advance and streamline standardized processes to enhance event planning and execution efficiency.Keep stakeholders aligned on deliverables, empower Coupa Partners with sponsorship opportunities, and provide sales and marketing teams with the tools to drive attendance.Represent our culture in every interaction, ensuring our events reflect the innovation, collaboration, and excellence that define us.
What You Will Bring to Coupa: Proven project management skills with expertise in platforms (Asana experience preferred).7+ years of event management experience, including large-scale B2B SaaS user conferences (2,000+ attendees, $5M+ budget).A self-starter with strong time management, organization, and attention to detail—able to create, interpret, and execute budgets effectively.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Experience managing internal and external stakeholders, including executives, vendors, and agencies.Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with tight deadlines.A creative mindset, always looking for innovative ways to enhance event experiences and drive results.Willingness to travel as needed.
