Sr. Manager, Engineering Job

Arkema Inc. is actively recruiting for a Sr. Manager, Engineering to support our Beaumont facility. At Arkema, the Sr. Engineering Manager's primary focus is managing all reliability-based engineering related to the continual improvements of the facility.  This role is responsible for the overall Reliability and Compliance Management, Mechanical Integrity, Capital Project Management and Turnaround for the Beaumont facility.  This role will coach and mentor his team of director reports and its part of the Site Leadership team.  

 

This role is responsible for but not limited to: 

Maintaining and growing a balanced score card approach to improving reliability effectiveness and efficiency metrics that link directly to the Plant’s KPIs. Key member for plant budget development and tracking team. Takes leadership role in plant safety processes to drive HESQ improvement through BBS observations, AIMS inspections, incident analyses, and process hazard analyses. Drive continual improvement through leadership and mentoring of the root cause analysis processes and continual improvement objectives/metrics Defines strategy and ensures execution of the plants mechanical integrity program to maintain 100% compliance with Arkema, ASME, API and other RAGAGEP standards. Define strategy and ensures execution of a plant reliability program that drives continual improvement of equipment on stream time and reduced OPEX spend. Owns Arkema VIS (Equipment criticality program for PM and spare part management). Define strategy and ensures execution of a plant Instrument, power, and DCS program that drives continual improvement of equipment on stream time and reduced OPEX spend. Owns plant Cyber Security program, compliance, and execution of projects. Manage 5-Year plant capital plan. Define strategy and ensure execution of year+1 activities with operations, process, and maintenance to ensure proper tracking and execution of plant budget. Define strategy for turnaround with close assistance from Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Maintenance Manager, and Business Leadership.  Depending on year of execution. Lead turnaround program to manage the scope development and continual turnaround planning throughout the year. Report on Key KPI’s leading up to the execution, execution, and close or turnaround.  Focused on Safety, Schedule Compliance, and Cost control. Work with Site Leadership Team to set plant goals that assist in executing our Business Unit and Arkema Inc. business objectives. Serve as a coach and mentor to your department personnel by, setting goals and objectives for everyone on your team.

 

Experience and Education: 

Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical or related degree. 10 –15 years of refinery or chemical plant maintenance, engineering, and project management experience. Minimum 5 years experience in leadership and team management roles Proven track record of mentoring and developing teams Knowledge of budgets, forecasting and managing KPIs/metrics Extensive knowledge sound engineering and technology practices. Experience managing multi-discipline groups. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of organization, clients and stakeholders. Strong organizational skills.
