Senior Java Developer-

The Senior Java Developer shall develop and maintain Java based Web Applications. They will have prime accountability for major projects and will develop detailed and robust design, code, test, and implement proposed systems. They will use the ability to develop technical solutions, document the solution architecture, and design document using UML. They will have hands-on experience with projects supporting Service Oriented Architecture principles. They will work independently and provide technical directions to team members. They will use superior oral and written communications skills to effectively convey progress, issues, reports, and other customer deliverables with clarity and value.

Skills Requirements:
• Database experience with Oracle and DB2.
• XML processing experience such as XSD, XPath, XSL, XSLT, etc.
• Experience with JavaScript, HTML, SSL.
• Experience with complex programming, program debugging, data analysis, problem analysis and resolution issues within OO application systems.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Exposure to writing Technical White Papers and systems design documents.
• Self-starter, highly motivated individual, and a team player who adapts to a dynamic work environment.
• Ability to investigate/research issues, determine impact, and provide solutions.
• Experience with version control software such as MKS and CSS.
• Familiar with Web Service technologies such as Apache Axis, SOAP and WSDL.
• Familiar with Rational Unified Process, CMM/CMMI.
• Familiar with MS Project and Visio.
• Familiarity with IT Governance frameworks.
• Communication skills to present ideas and concepts effectively; strong and proven problem solving.
• Self-managed with the ability to mentor others.

• Experience in UML diagramming and design documentation.

Addl. info:   Visa status: Any visa status will work. Must provide copy of visa. Good communication skills are key. 
Duration: These are long term contracts and can go as long as the contract with SSA. Federal contracts are usually seven years. 

Minimum experience and education: Candidates with a BS degree must have the minimum of 11 years or 132 months of work experience specific to the job description. 
If a candidate has a Master’s degree, they still need a minimum of 11 years or 132 months of work experience but only nine years or 108 months of experience specific to the job. The other work experience to meet the 132 months does not have to be IT related. 
Work experience while in college can be counted toward the overall years.

If no degree, work experience may be substituted.
Background clearance: All candidates selected will have to go through a Federal government background check prior to being able to start. Generally, the background process takes between 3,4 or 5 weeks. The time is dependent on how quickly the candidate is able to complete the paperwork.
Candidates will obtain a Public Trust clearance upon approval.
