Sr. Financial Analyst
Description We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on a long-term contract basis. This role focuses on managing budgets and analyzing financial data, particularly within the marketing segment of the business. As part of a dynamic retail industry team, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency. Responsibilities: • Analyze budget versus actuals to ensure financial accuracy and identify variances. • Manage purchase orders and oversee marketing-related expenditures, including one-off campaign spending. • Collaborate with the FP& A team to support financial planning and reporting efforts. • Scrub financial data to improve accuracy and reliability for decision-making processes. • Utilize tools like NetSuite and Adaptive Insights to streamline financial operations and reporting. • Assist with the management of the $300M annual budget, including $200M allocated to marketing. • Provide tactical support to maintain operational continuity during the search for a long-term team member. • Train and transition knowledge to the incoming team member when identified. • Support G& A budget oversight and ensure compliance with organizational standards. • Work in a hybrid capacity, attending the office in Cambridge three days per week. Requirements • Proven experience in financial analysis and accounting roles. • Proficiency in financial systems such as NetSuite and Adaptive Insights. • Strong understanding of budget processes and managing operational expenditures. • Ability to work with large-scale budgets and perform detailed data analysis. • Familiarity with procurement tools like Zip is a plus. • Excellent organizational and communication skills. • Capability to work in a hybrid environment, commuting to Cambridge three days per week. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
