The Sr. Electrical System Validation Engineer will contribute to the validation of the Low Voltage systems and be responsible for ensuring reliable performance. You will lead system-level design and validation activities and work side by side with various cross-functional teams to support product design, vehicle behaviors definition, prototype bring-up, and validation with a system level focus. You will lead bring-up and validation activities for each vehicle build and be responsible for overall functionality and performance of Low Voltage systems throughout product life cycle. B.S in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent 8+ years of relevant experience Experience with designing test plans to validate automotive low voltage systems Experience and working knowledge of systems development, electric vehicle’s electrical architecture, functional safety, and component level integration planning Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and ability to apply them to automotive concepts Proven debugging and diagnostic skills in electrical, mechanical, and software domains Strong written and verbal communication skills An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team A systems approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvementEven better, you may have...
Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related fields 10+ years of combined electrical HW design and low voltage system validation experience Having semiconductor level knowledge is a big plus Experienced with advanced problem solving tools such as fish-bone diagram, Design For Six Sigma (DFSS), FA report, 8D documentation, etc. Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA)You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

What you'll do...
Design and develop low voltage systems based on system requirements Develop proper test plans to validate load performance in low voltage systems Work closely with the test engineers to develop Design Validation Plan and Report (DVP&R) for low voltage components and low voltage systems Gain deep technical knowledge on existing low voltage system architecture and propose strategies to enhance system reliability and functional safety Work with component suppliers to characterize the loads in a low voltage system Categorize the loads based on their functions and ASIL levels and establish an advanced drive strategies to achieve system goals Determine safe operating voltage range and other relevant constraints for all the loads Perform system failure mode and effect analysis Play an active role in low voltage system failure root cause analysis Participate in system level functional safety studies Support low voltage system requirement definition Ensure reliability of low voltage system by proposing proper load management strategies Perform trade studies to realize efficient system design strategies and optimize for cost
