Sr. Director, Strategic Initiatives (Benefits) - National Accounts Services

ADP is hiring a Sr. Director of Strategic Initiatives (Benefits) within our National Accounts Services organization.

In this Sr. Director Strategic Initiatives (Benefits) role, you will drive valuable business development by using your strong leadership and problem-solving skills to assist with the Strategy and Operations of the National Accounts Benefits Services division. You will play an integral role in driving the business strategy for NAS Benefits, including identification and execution of growth and productivity improvement initiatives.

 

You will work closely with key internal stakeholders and leaders to identify risks in proposals, build consensus and explain difficult information.  You will be an external thought leader that can influence the strategy to address internal or external business and regulatory issues, proactively identify and solve the most complex problems that impact management and direction of the business.

 

As the Sr. Director, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the VP of Benefits and peers as well as functional partners (e.g., HR, Legal, Finance, Sales, Product), and working together, you will identify, develop, and drive long-term strategies based on fact-based analyses, competitive and market dynamics, focusing both on growth and operational improvement opportunities.

WHAT YOU’LL DO: Responsibilities

 

Will serve as a member of the Benefits SLT (Senior Leadership Team) Lead and implement various strategic planning processes across the Benefits organization. Utilize fact-based analyses, competitive and market dynamics to identify and execute upon growth and operational improvement opportunities. Act as a trusted advisor to the VP of Benefits and peers as well as functional partners. Collaborate with SLT members to determine and prioritize business strategies as well as determine ways to track and measure results. Lead a team of Project/Program Managers as well as drive execution of strategic initiatives in a matrixed organization. Help drive partnerships as they relate to growth. Identify and help solve core problems or opportunities within business processes. Provide support and oversight and/or leadership for special projects and business initiatives from ideation to implementation. Create presentations and business proposals. Assist with budget and financial responsibilities related to projects. Provide tactical support to implement ideas.

 Deepen Relationships Across the ADP Family. You will be a key representative of the NAS Benefits organization, but it’s not all business; you will make life-long friendships here.

Collaborate Daily. You will serve as a trusted advisor, partner, and ADP ambassador to your clients, internal partners, and overall network while demonstrating grace under pressure and the highest ethical standards.

 

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: Requirements

 We support a hybrid flexible work environment; 3 days in the office and 2 days at home. This role is open to the locations listed within the requisition. 12+ years of experience supporting strategic initiatives, preferably in a matrixed environment 7-10+ years of prior work experience in leadership, preferably with a communication, strategy, service, or analysis background. You will a have an upbeat, persistent style and the ability to effectively collaborate with all levels. You can manage your time well, prioritize deliverables, and multi-task with the best of them. In addition, you can present your ideas in a clear, professional manner on paper, in-person, and over Webex. You are a great people leader with strong team engagement and the ability to encourage development. You will possess a strong business acumen, proven track record with the ability to build strong relationships, identify and remove barriers, influence within and outside of your direct organization, and ensure accountability (inspect what you expect) that translates to measurable results. Ability to partner within the NAS (National Accounts Services) Benefits ecosystem to identify, prioritize, and drive enablement of business strategies that will result in growth, increased client retention, improved partnership with product development, decrease in work handoffs, and focus on operational improvement. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work across organizations with limited supervision Good analytical skills and ability to produce high quality and volume at a fast pace. Ability to work with different time zones, different cultures and different geographies and with all levels of leadership.

  A college degree is great but not required. What’s more important is having the skills to do the job. If you don’t have a college degree, other acceptable experience could include:

Experience noted above, OR Military experience (NCO+) where skills including teamwork, adaptability, organization, and follow-through will help you build team and client relationships, identify solutions, and achieve success.

MBA or Advanced Degree. Benefits experience is a plus. Leader of Leader experience strongly preferred. Ability to influence without authority. Analytical, meticulous person with excellent and consistent follow-through. Proven project management skills-ability to direct and manage multiple projects. Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative environments. Ability to anticipate and adapt to changing conditions and opportunities. Ability to prioritize issues and work under the pressure of time constraints.
