Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?Travelers' financial analysis team translates raw numbers into actionable insights to tell the story of past financial results and forecast possibilities into the future. The team acts as an independent party to collaborate with business partners and enable them to make informed decisions rooted in economic reality.

Travelers' Select is an externally reported $3.7 billion business with over 700 thousand small business policies. Select is seeking a financial analysis leader to drive actionable insights and help shape future strategies for the business.

As a Sr Director, Select Financial Planning & Analysis, you will drive strategy and have oversight of Select production reporting and analysis, along with being the key finance business partner with the Product Management organization. This position will manage finance professionals.What Will You Do?Oversee, synthesize and present reports generated into impactful exhibits, insightful results/observations, and actionable recommendations to influence business partners and senior management, ensuring quality control/accuracy.Serve as the key point of contact for the Product Management organization.Design, prepare, evaluate, and validate complex internal and/or external reports, both routine and ad-hoc, to support strategic business objectives.Consult with business partners to recommend, develop and create overall production plan in conjunction with business plan and forecast for the organization.Finance lead in maintenance and resolution for all TM1 issues.Identify gaps and limitations in data sets and understand multiple layers of complexity with the ability to explain and recommend potential alternatives.Review team members' reports, provide coaching and feedback on accuracy and presentation.Execute identified analyses aligned with broad business objectives.Perform testing and validation of data and analyses and identify gaps and limitations in data sets while recommending potential alternatives.Coordinate the creation of complex analyses to influence business strategy.Provide coaching, training, and mentoring.Effectively manage and engage direct reports and perform management activities such as performance management, career development and talent acquisition.Perform other duties as assigned.What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in finance or accounting or professional designations such as CPA, CMA or comparable advanced professional education. Extensive experience with Financial Analysis concepts, principles, processes, applications and accounting practices and principles preferably with some exposure to the P&C insurance industry.Excellent communication skills with the ability to present, influence, and negotiate at various levels of the organization and with external partners. Advanced leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach and develop team members, leverage differences, and strategically align resources to accomplish key objectives.Exceptional data analysis skills with the ability to interpret trends and report insights and recommendations to business partners.Advanced organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and follow through to ensure timely completion. Experience using Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Financial Reporting Software (e.g., TM1, Essbase, Hyperion, etc.).Deep understanding of Travelers' business strategy and plan objectives to align with enterprise goals.

What is a Must Have?Seven years of finance, financial planning, accounting, or related experience.
