Within OI’s Product Organization, the Product Strategy and Innovation team is responsible for overseeing OI’s portfolio of software and services products, coordinating investments and innovation across market teams. We help our product teams bring new ideas to market faster via prioritized investment, supported market activation, external and internal partnerships, and acquisitions.
OI Product Portfolio Strategy is a new team that will oversee the health and performance of OI’s full portfolio of services and software products. The team will ensure alignment between the product portfolio and OI’s strategic objectives, prioritize product initiatives, monitor product performance, and recommend adjustments to the portfolio, including innovation, acquisition, and sunset decisions.
The Sr Director, Product Portfolio Strategy is responsible for building this new team and collaborating with cross-functional leaders across the organization meet the team’s objectives.
**Portfolio Strategy Team Business Objectives:**
+ Optimize Investments: Ensure investments and resources are prioritized for high-growth, high-potential products
+ Risk Management: Build a diversified portfolio that measures and manages risk at both the product and portfolio levels
+ Strategic Alignment: Balance the portfolio to meet short-term financial goals while building a long-term pipeline for sustainable growth through innovation
+ Transparency: Empower and inform decision-making with realistic estimates of portfolio value
+ Agility: Improve market responsiveness and innovation speed through flexible capital allocation

**Primary Responsibilities:**
**Monitor and Regularly Evaluate the Health of the Product Portfolio:**
+ Define metrics to monitor each product across financial performance, client performance, market potential, strategic value, investment performance, and risk
+ Develop processes to define product lifecycle staging decisions
+ Identify portfolio objectives in terms of diversification, risk, and balance between short-term and long-term strategic objectives
+ Collaborate with finance, operations, and other product leaders to compile metrics into a data store
+ Aggregate product metrics into portfolio analytics to monitor portfolio against financial, operational, and strategic objectives and guide future investment or reallocation decisions
**Oversee Capital Investment Strategy:**
+ Define investment grading criteria to support ranking and prioritization of investment requests based on strategic alignment, product performance, and risk/time-weighted outcomes
+ Oversee the capital request process and make recommendations on prioritization
+ Support agility through stage-gating high-risk investments and managing an innovation fund throughout the year
+ Monitor and report on capital investment performance throughout the lifecycle: capital allocation, utilization, program delivery, and ROI

+ Establish the above functions and maintain delivery with a high degree of excellence

**Required Qualifications:**
+ 10+ years of experience in product portfolio management, strategy, in healthcare or technology sectors
+ 10+ years of experience of strategically analyzing data for building investment frameworks
+ Experience identifying the highest impact products, where to invest, what to sunset, and where the gaps are in the product portfolio
+ Experience in capital investment strategy and financial analysis
+ Proven solid analytical skills with the ability to define and monitor key performance metrics
+ Proven excellent leadership and team-building skills in a remote environment
+ Proven solid communication and collaboration abilities with cross-functional teams
+ Demonstrated consulting and problem-solving mindset
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Demonstrated strategic thought leadership: capable of leading a team through ambiguity to establish new programs
+ Ability to thrive and quickly adapt to change, leading others through change in a dynamic, fast-paced industry and work environment

The salary range for this role is $150,200 to $288,500 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
