Job Summary:
Oversees the design of semi-custom Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs), Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), board level systems, software product including other architecture design, and implementation. Provides oversight and direction regarding the assigned team, financial and operational activities
Principal Responsibilities:
Directs and guides the activities of the design engineering function responsible for architecting, designing, coding, synthesizing, simulating, testing and debugging electronics systems, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment, or other software, hardware systems and/or electrical engineering application including implementation of new features.Evaluates final results of design engineering projects to assure accomplishment of technical objectives ensuring the requrements are maintainable and scalable.Prepares, coordinates, and presents reports outlining the outcome of projects and makes recommendations for actions necessary to achieve desired results.Oversees and manages the integration activites, testing, and performance of the design.Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.Oversees and evaluates staff’s estimates for completion of tasks and activities.Ensures team understands customer’s business and technical objectives to determine the optimum tools, devices, and methods required to assist in the achievement of those objectives.Manages the evaluation, recommendation, specification, installation and maintenance of design tools.Manages the development and documentation of customer proposals, designs, methodologies and user procedures.Oversees team of technical representative to clients, and suppliers.Other duties as assigned.

Work Experience:
Typically 8+ years including 3+ years of management experience
Education and Certification(s):
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.

Lab Management & Operations:
Oversee the daily operations of the design lab, ensuring that all equipment, tools, and technologies are properly maintained and operational.
Develop and implement lab policies, procedures, and safety protocols to ensure a secure and efficient working environment.
Manage inventory, including procurement of materials, tools, and supplies needed for design projects.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Electronics Engineering,
Experience: Proven experience in managing a design lab, studio, or similar creative environment
Technical Skills: Proficiency in design tools (e.g., PADS or Allegra Suite, CAD software)
Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire creativity and innovation.
