Sr. Customer Manager, Seasonal - Walgreens

The Sr. Customer Manager is responsible for achieving profitable sales growth at Walgreens for the Mars Wrigley seasonal business. This role is expected to maintain strong relationships & best execute customer plans that deliver objectives of; revenue, growth, profit, product/assortment, everyday shelving, merchandising, pricing, and promotions.

What are we looking for?

Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree Preferred

5+ years consumer packaged goods retailer sales experience

Experienced account manager with 5+ years of account sales experience

Proven retail analytic application & management capabilities, i.e. syndicated data (Nielsen and/or IRI), customer specific data, annual customer planning

Demonstrated strong Microsoft Office capabilities (PowerPoint, Excel & Word)

Systems capabilities (i.e. ability to manage and work in proprietary sales planning / trade management systems)

Ability to travel 10%

What would be your key responsibilities?

Sell Mars Wrigley portfolio on “Seasonal” Confections business to Walgreens while maximizing sales growth and profit

Leverage competitive line reviews to drive assortment recommendations. Responsible for delivering Walgreens Seasonal Net Sales growth objectives. 

Manage Seasonal P&L and deliver financial targets.  Effectively negotiate trade deals to drive profitable business and positive ROI.  Manage trade budget, rate and drive net sales realization. 

Complete all Walgreens promotional contracts

Responsible for Walgreens direct sales forecast based on Integrated Business Plan monthly process. Leverage tools and relationship with customer to drive forecast accuracy

Foster strong customer relations with Candy Buyers, Assistant Buyers and Marketing Team to ensure a long-term partnership that promotes sales growth

Develop and align to team Objectives, Goals, Strategies and Measures

Liaison with Customer Supply Chain team and Walgreens Merchandise Planning teams to drive initiatives and monthly status meetings (30/60/90 calls)

Cross-Functional Teamwork:  Actively lead, engage and work with internal Mars-Wrigley functions, peers & colleagues, and when applicable other Mars division personnel to drive business results

Complete all new item set up forms, costing & negotiations agreements

Perform special projects as requested by Value Channel Director and Small Format VP
