What you'll be doing

As a Sr. Consultant, Infrastructure Risk Management you will be part of the Infrastructure Operations & Networks (ION) Audit, Risk, & Compliance team and will act as an Audit and Risk Subject Matter Expert responsible for ensuring compliance with CIBC’s Policies, Standards, Processes and Controls related to Risk and Compliance and provide expert support for internal audits, closing deficiencies, ensuring controls, and meeting regulatory requirements and compliance as well as all other risk related activities.

You will conduct regular touchpoints with stakeholders, including Executives and Senior Management, Internal Audit, Global Operational Risk Management (GORM), and Governance, Risk, & Controls (GRC), using a consultative approach to provide relevant risk and compliance updates, raise issues, and seek support as needed and will proactively contribute to risk initiatives, providing audit, risk and controls advice

You will be required to continuously examine and interpret current audit, deficiencies and controls against actual processes and practices, identify gaps, and lead remediation initiatives accordingly and monitor and report on remediation and control effectiveness. You will develop, customize or revise processes, tools and templates that can be leveraged to manage and govern in-scope controls and processes

How you will succeed

Audit and Risk Control Expertise: you will prepare for audits, manage deficiency commitments, and provide periodic status updates to management; leverage your experience of Audits and Deficiency management along with a broad understanding of technology standards, controls and processes, and act as a subject matter expert in risk and compliance. You will manage audit expectations, review and gain assurance to provide opinions on statutory and regulatory controls and obligations, lead continuous improvement of control health and our risk posture.

Ensuring Compliance: you will lead and implement effective management of a compliance mandate to implement strategies to ensure compliance with applicable processes, controls and standards; working closely with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain robust control frameworks. 

Effective Communication: you will demonstrate strong presentation and narration skills, tailor your message to the appropriate audience, which may include technology and risk executives, senior leaders, peers and team members, and subject matter experts.

Coaching and Mentoring: you will support end-to-end controls implementation as a subject matter expert, provide advice and guidance to a diverse team of technology, controls, and risk professionals while maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment by supporting team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems. You will work to continuously improve processes, manage roadmap changes, and support resource tracking.

Who you are

You can demonstrate 10 years of experience in Compliance with an understanding of Infrastructure Operations & Network processes including ITIL, Application Operations, Network Engineering, Vendor Governance.

You have extensive knowledge of risk management, audit & regulatory compliance principles, practices, policies, and procedures; an understanding of Application Operations and Application Development roles and accountabilities is preferred.
