Sr. Commercial Loan Servicing Specialist

      

Under minimal supervision, this position’s primary responsibility is to provide expert senior-level technical and operational support, training, and knowledge for all functions related to the bank/credit union’s business loan servicing. This includes support to business loan clients, commercial lenders, and business relationship managers. The role involves working directly with management teams, internal and external clients, third-party vendors, and participation lenders to accurately process all loan servicing requirements confidentially and promptly. Senior staff activities include mentoring lower-level employees, serving as the SBA reporting expert, developing new systems/tools to automate or support current manual processes, resolving complex business loan system issues, leading department projects, and researching changes in core systems due to rules and regulations.

         

          

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as the subject matter expert for the core operating system on business loans. Assist with implementation and testing for system updates. Independently perform or recommend system changes for loan maintenance.Work independently to book complex commercial loans to the system, perform system updates and changes. Mentor lower-level employees on business loan and general business deposit or Treasury Management issues. Research complex system issues and provide recommendations for resolution. Act as the primary resource for cross-training business operations staff on booking loans to the system.Perform entry-level analyst work, often addressing consistency, accuracy, quality, continuous improvement, and standardization of processes.Prepare, review, and monitor monthly reporting to bank/credit union management and clients, including but not limited to SBA 1502, Trial Balance, and Delinquency reports. Handle various ad hoc requests from internal/external departments.Respond to member, client, and attorney inquiries regarding loans.Provide backup support in all loan operations areas and identify areas for improvement in the loan servicing functions, including SBA servicing and maintenance requirements.Independently assist bank/credit union staff and members with servicing needs.Assist in projects to define business process requirements, research, and recommend appropriate solutions.Implement and maintain basic business processes or procedures.

Required Job Qualifications

College degree or High School Diploma with a sufficient level of work history and experience.In-depth knowledge of the Fiserv DNA core operating system (preferred).Ability to perform research and make recommendations on compliance issues and process improvements.Excellent knowledge of business lending with an emphasis on commercial real estate transactions, construction and participation lending, and other bank/credit union products and services, including SBA programs.Excellent understanding of business loan and business deposit or Treasury Management processes, including complex real estate concepts and terminology.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Possess a superior level of customer service with well-developed human relations skills. Advanced knowledge of the banking/credit union industry and the ability to present a professional and dynamic image.Demonstrate excellent problem resolution skills and analytical ability. Able to produce results without direct supervision. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks.Ability to assist in orienting and training lower-level employees.Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $24.17 - $32.70 per hour, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
