The CNC Programmer completes CNC Programming using EdgeCAM for HZ and VTL turning CNC equipment. The position creates CNC programs for manufacturing mid to high complex aerospace components, cutter selection, setup documentation, tooling design and drafting, CNC tooling programs, verification and assist with shop aid sketches. This position is responsible for reading and interpreting design blueprints, programming the CNC machine, and adjusting the machine settings until the desired specifications are met.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

CAM Programming for Lathe CNC (primarily using EdgeCAM) Support and monitor CNC operators during setups and operation processCreate step by step operational routers based on CNC manufacturing procedure and necessary inspection plans Design fixtures Provide process cycle time estimates Continually monitor programs and manufacturing techniques for better machining practices and utilizing creative methods to improve productivity Provide progress, status, and troubleshooting reports to management  May occasionally perform special projects  Project leader for smaller plant projects from initiation through to completion

 

Required Skills:

Must be willing to work long hours and weekends if neededMust be willing to travel domestic & International if needed (not an often occurrence)Must be willing to work in high demand department – (supports equipment in multiple locations)Aerospace programming a plusProgramming exotic (Aerospace) materials i.e. Inconel, Titanium etc.Programming predominately turning machines.Must be a Team PlayerAbility to follow detailed instructions to complete routine procedures and/or operate standard equipment.Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with immediate management.Must be flexible and able to periodically support team with tooling inventory and managementAssist outside machining vendors when necessary with programming and tooling supportTime management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environmentHandling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals.

 

Experience & Education

5+ years of CNC programming experience required GD&T experience is requiredExperience in manufacturing required, aerospace industry preferred
