We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Associate to deliver superior results for our valued customers. Amazon Freight operates in all parts of a customer’s supply chain and plays a pivotal role in getting customer inventory to the end consumer on time. By leveraging a robust carrier network, top tier supply chain technology, and a team of bar raising professionals a successful candidate will be able to add value immediately and deliver the right freight, on time, every time.
An Ideal candidate will get to know our customer and obsess over offering solutions for the myriad of transportation issues our customers face. An ideal candidate has a background in transportation and excellent program management skills. They have the ability to pull and analyze data with ease, drive process improvements, standardize our processes and eliminate the root cause of defects within the current systems. This job will require exceptional communication skills while having the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
Key job responsibilities
- Own being the 1st escalation point of contact for complex customer issues.
- Use high judgement to distinguish between containing a disruption and escalating to leadership
- Execute processes to standard work expectations within Amazon built systems and customer systems/processes.
- Build a positive relationship in daily interactions when interacting with customers
- Move between shipper support teams with knowledge of systems/processes and quickly support any function
- Continual, tactical communication with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Retail, Finance, Software Support, Fulfillment Centers).
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written as you will be required to create a narrative outlining your weekly findings and the variances to goals, and present these finding in a review forum.
- Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, while measuring and identifying activities performed.
- Lead initiatives to re-engineer business processes and identify and eliminate root causes of defects in order to drive efficiency in Amazon’s transportation operations.
- Must be able to systematically escalate problems or variance in the information and data to the relevant owners and teams and follow through on the resolutions to ensure they are delivered.
- Ability to pull data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) and to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
- Develop performance metrics to assist with driving business results.
- Must be able to quickly understand the business impact of the trends and make decisions that make sense based on available data.
Basic Qualifications
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
- Experience managing large data sets and utilizing to drive performance and process improvements
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of program management, logistics, operations, supply chain, transportation, or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of management experience
- Experience with SQL
- Bachelor's Degree or 2+ years of Blue Badge Amazon experience
