EPCOR is hiring a full-time Senior Advisor, Digital Marketing & Communications position and reporting to our US Corporate office in Glendale, Arizona.
Working in our Public Affairs group, this position is responsible for managing EPCOR’s internal and external digital media initiatives and platforms in the United States. This position also plays a key role guiding digital and social media for EPCOR’s Canadian operations outside of Edmonton, AB.
The Senior Advisor reports to the Senior Manager of Public Affairs and is accountable for ensuring digital marketing and communications effectively enhance the profile, reputation and image of EPCOR while meeting brand standards.
Responsibilities of the position include developing digital communications strategies and content that assist in meeting the company’s business objectives, collaborating with the broader team, internal stakeholders and community partners to achieve the desired objectives.
The position’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing and executing social media campaigns that align with the annual editorial calendar and key business objectives; social media monitoring and support; analytics and competitive analysis; serving as the US-based lead for intranet and extranet initiatives; ensuring alignment and integration with EPCOR’s intranet and extranets; managing digital/e-mail marketing campaigns, and building EPCOR’s social community and brand awareness.
What you’d be responsible forDeveloping and executing digital communications strategies aligned to business priorities and strategic initiatives and that help deliver programs that enhance EPCOR’s profile with customers and key stakeholders.Selecting and using appropriate communications channels to engage customers and stakeholders.
Ensuring all social and digital media content and materials adhere to brand guidelines and effectively reflect EPCOR’s identity, mission and values.Monitoring and analyzing social media and digital marketing performance, adjusting strategies and tactics based on data and market trends to optimize results.Developing, maintaining and executing an annual editorial calendar and communications plan that aligns with the broader business communications plan.
Assisting with the development of proactive issues management strategies and ensuring timely social and digital media support in response to emerging issues, incidents or crises.
Developing and implementing communications and strategies to build employee engagement, including the daily management of EPCOR’s intranet-based employee news source.
Enhancing customer satisfaction through the development of customer-facing social media, marketing and advertising and website materials.
Guiding creative resources and vendors, such as photographers, graphic designers and other consultants.Supporting the company’s growth and talent acquisition efforts via social media channels and digital campaigns.Working with the Senior Manager to manage and execute EPCOR’s community investment program, with primary responsibility for activating digital and social media.
What’s required to be successfulBachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Mass Communications or a similar field or equivalent.At least 5 years of experience with a primary focus on or responsibility for digital strategy, content, execution and analysis.Valid Arizona driver’s license with good driving record.Professional social media experience is a must, and experience in a customer-service industry or utility environment is highly desirable.Superior writing and editing – adherence to high editorial standards – with experience developing digital and social media content.Demonstrated understanding, experience and application of diverse communication tools.Ability to manage multiple multi-faceted, complex projects.Proven experience in delivering effective, measurable marketing across a range of marketing, promotional and advertising channels.In-depth knowledge and use of digital environments, social networks and engagement platforms.Demonstrated understanding in content creation, copywriting and storytelling techniques to build, engage and influence audiences.Fully engaged in current web, social and digital concepts, techniques and trends. Ability to analyze strengths, weaknesses, and relevance to the organization, and predict trends on the horizon.Applies sound communications, public relations and marketing fundamentals to every project.Experience directing design, photography and videography production and vendors.Detail- and deadline-oriented: demonstrated strength in organizational, prioritization and project management skills with minimal supervision.Calm under pressure and thrives in a fast-paced environment that requires daily flexibility and multi-tasking.A results-oriented mindset.Excellent command of grammar and AP writing style.A working knowledge of media relations.Experience with Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Publisher), Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, DataStudio, Adwords), Emplifi, and various Cloud applications including Asana.Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere), Canva and Microsoft SharePoint would be considered assets.Actively using social media (X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).Advanced understanding of SharePoint and Adobe software applications as well as advanced understanding of social and digital media. Email marketing, understanding of and experience in the water industry, and Spanish language competence would be considered assets but are not required.Other important facts about this job
