Description We are seeking a Sr. Accountant for a short-term contract employment opportunity, based in San Antonio, Texas. This role functions in the hospitality industry and requires a detail-oriented individual who can handle a variety of accounting duties.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process customer credit applications
• Maintain precise customer credit records
• Conduct general ledger, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations and analysis
• Oversee the processing of invoices and ensure vendors receive payments promptly
• Implement and uphold internal controls to prevent discrepancies in the accounts payable process
• Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal licenses, permits, and tax requirements
• Supervise payroll processing, ensuring employees receive accurate, timely payments
• Adhere to relevant tax laws and regulations related to payroll
• Provide financial insights and support to help departments achieve their financial targets
• Ensure the timely month-end closing and reporting, and produce accurate financial statements. Requirements • Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field
• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
• Competency in managing and maintaining the general ledger
• Ability to accurately prepare and manage journal entries
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with month-end close procedures
• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP accounting software
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• CPA certification is preferred but not required.
