Sr. Accountant
Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in CHESTERFIELD, Michigan. This role is primarily office-based and is part of our fast-paced Finance Team. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be handling all accounting responsibilities, budgeting, FP& A, and financial statements for one of our largest entities. Responsibilities • Oversee the entire accounting cycle, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting • Handle accounting responsibilities, contributing to the organization's revenue generation • Prepare and review journal entries as part of a manual process • Perform account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and bank reconciliations • Utilize advanced Excel skills for various tasks, including pivot tables and v-lookups • Conduct budgeting and forecasting, contributing to strategic financial planning • Use accounting systems such as Great Plains, Lucanet, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP • Collaborate with the Assistant Controller on cash disbursements and receipts, ensuring proper approvals are in place • Close month-end books, verifying accuracy of general ledger entries • Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders Requirements • Proficient in Account Reconciliation, ensuring accurate and timely completion. • Demonstrable experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation, maintaining financial accuracy. • Skilled in conducting Bank Reconciliations, verifying the company's records with the bank's records. • Proficient in managing the General Ledger, posting and balancing financial data in various ledgers. • Ability to prepare and record Journal Entries, ensuring correct recording of transactions. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, using it to process, analyze, and report financial data. • Experienced in Month End Close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. • Knowledgeable in using NetSuite, managing financial processes within this platform. • Familiarity with Oracle, using it to manage financial data and processes. • Experience with SAP, particularly its financial modules, to streamline accounting processes.
