Description Our client in Downtown Houston, Texas is seeking a Sr. Accountant on a contract-to-hire basis. The role is centered around maintaining accurate financial records and analyzing financial transactions within the company. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be crucial in supporting general ledger processing, preparing financial statements, and ensuring accurate data for regulatory reports. Responsibilities: • Carry out account and balance sheet reconciliations for various income statement accounts • Support the preparation of financial statements, including footnotes and audit-quality documentation • Conduct bank account reconciliations as part of month-end close procedures • Assist in preparing support for monthly sales and use tax filings • Verify accounts payable information for accuracy and completeness before entry into the general ledger • Keep accounting management updated on issues within the assigned areas of responsibility and provide support for any financial data requests • Prepare budget and forecasts based on actual and projected information • Ensure data for regulatory reports and filings is accurate • Stay updated on emerging GAAP and interact with peers within the industry to understand how new guidance can potentially affect the company and/or the industry • Ensure responses to data requests are complete, accurate, and timely. Requirements • Applicant must hold a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of accounting • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is mandatory • Expertise in Balance Sheet Reconciliation is required • Experience with Bank Reconciliations is essential • Applicant should have a thorough understanding and practical knowledge of General Ledger management • Ability to prepare and manage Journal Entries is necessary • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must • Experience in handling Month End Close tasks is required Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
