ABOUT THE JOB:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our corporate accounting team in Baltimore, MD. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the coordination, calculation, preparation, financial analysis and reporting of the Company critical accounting estimates for accounting management and finance leadership.  This individual will work jointly with various operational, finance and accounting teams to coordinate the monthly process, preparing monthly journal entries, perform necessary analysis and prepare presentations for management.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as, general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions, and completed corresponding reconciliations.  Reviews, independently investigates and resolves identified matters. Prepares and analyzes monthly and quarterly financial information utilized to determine and support key management estimates (AR Allowance, Credit Memo Reserve, Fleet, health insurance, corp insurance, natural disasters, etc.) Prepares and completes month-end close processing ensuring that all deadlines are met in accordance with the established closing dates Lead support and documentation for annual AR allowance rate study, periodic rate reviews for credit memos, periodic analysis for fleet disposal and other misc analysis of accounting estimates, as required  Serves as an information resource to back office and business operations stakeholders related to any issues or initiatives, including analyzing financial data to identify trends and patterns Collects, interprets and summarizes financial data in order to respond to internal and external customer inquiries Communicates and coordinates with both internal and external auditors and satisfies their requests for information in a timely manner Perform key SOX and management controls over critical estimates Develops and maintains a good working relationship with both internal and external customers Assisting or leading special projects as required Other duties as assigned.  This is a role that has significant visibility to financial leadership.  There are often critical projects, analysis, ad hoc requests that are requested that are time sensitive in nature.  The person in this role needs to be able to analyze information and anticipate the next question, the next challenge, the next project, including the impact on operations, the audit, controls, financial statements, etc. The person in this role must be a very driven, financial professional with growth aspirations. The data used by this role is of a size and scale that requires the use of a data warehouse and supplemental reporting tools.  The role will be using/matching data and data attributes from multiple financial systems.  Use of various tools will be necessary on a daily basis. 

Critical systems used in performance of responsibilities:  

Significant use of these systems and tools is strongly preferred MS Office Suite, including strong excel skills SAP Oracle FCCS, EPM Snowflake data warehouse Sigma, Tableau Reporting/Analysis tools Blackline EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required CPA or relevant experience is required 5 years of relevant experience, including experience in public accounting (public accounting required) Proven experience in account reconciliations, general ledger, accounts receivable Proven experience in reviewing and analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports for management Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to analyze  GAAP  Ability to function well in a team and autonomous environment Skilled at multi-tasking with strong organization and attention to detail Effective communication skills with senior management and colleagues Driven, hard working business professional with a high degree of professionalism

Some travel may be required, up to 10%.

Consistent in-office requirement of 3 days in office, required.  In office requirements are subject to change.
