The Sr Workday Engineer will work with a team of other software developers and systems engineers to design, implement, and deploy software which meet customer's requirements, scales easily, removes the limitations of traditional networking solutions, and supports deployment in highly available environments.

The Sr Workday Engineer will participate in architecture and design of various Workday software components focused on creating innovative & business critical solutions. Works on technical assignments that are semi routine in nature but recognizes that need for occasional deviation from accepted practice. Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments.

Job Responsibilities:Technical System Expertise:Drive engineering projects by design, develop and maintaining technical integrations, reports and other configurations using Workday Studio, EIB, Complex Calculated Fields, Web Services, Workday Custom Reports, XSLT, and BIRT ; conducting tests and inspections preparing reports and calculations.Serve as the subject matter expert on Workday integrations, help drive technical vision and roadmap in payroll areaConsult with business and technical teams about interface design and maintenanceCollaborate with architects, technical leads and other developers on design decisionsBuild processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity, including aspects of security and data privacyProvide support with integration monitoring and production outages as necessary in a timely mannerIndependent study of current and new technology options that support business goals is expectedUnderstands system protocols, how systems operate and data flows. Aware of current technology benefits. Understands the building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete software and automation workExpected to supervise base and associate level engineers as neededInnovation:Interact with system engineers and keep up with market trends, tool innovations and investigate possible methods of improving and/or increasing a system requirement and/or necessary requirements for automationContinuously review existing designs and processes to identify opportunities to optimize existing workload/integrations for improved performance and reliability through industry perspectivesUnderstands the creation of company IPRTechnical Writing:Create detailed integration specifications, field mappings, designs, migration documentation to support the integration life-cycleWrites basic documentation on how technology works. Creates clear documentation for new code and systems usedDocumenting systems designs, presentations, and business requirements for consumption and consideration at the manager levelTechnical Leadership:Collaborates with technical teams and uses system expertise to deliver technical solutions.Continuously learns and teaches others existing and new technologies.Contributes to the development of others through mentoring or in house workshops and learning sessions.Technology Strategy:Assist with the research, planning and testing of major Workday System upgrades/updatesContributes to designs to implement new ideas which use new frameworks to improve an existing or new system/process/serviceResearch integration failures/issues, perform root cause analyses, and propose solutions for the fixUnderstands current technology that supports business goalsManage multiple competing priorities through effective organization and communicationQualifications:4+ years technical engineering4+ years of experience building Workday Integrations mainly with Workday Studio besides Core connectors, EIBs, Data Transformation4+ years of experience developing Workday custom reports, calculated fields, condition rules3+ years of experience dealing with Workday Payroll integrations and Workday administrative functions including but not limited to tenant, business process and security configurations, data loads, and payroll processes3+ years of experience in integration performance improvements is preferredCurrent certification in workday integration area is preferredExperience in Workday Extend app implementation is preferredExperience integrating with third-party vendors especially banks and benefits providersExperience in Web Services and APIs (WSDL, SOAP, REST)Enthusiastic about solving complex, system-to-system integration problemsProven experience working in a fast-paced environment and Agile frameworkCommunication: Ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiencesTechnical WritingBachelor's Degree Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent years of experience
