We are growing our locations and are investing more than $2 billion into establishing a new large-scale manufacturing site for biopharmaceuticals in the United States to accelerate the growth of our Bio CDMO (Contract and Development Manufacturing Organization) business. This will be the largest end-to-end cell culture CDMO provider in North America.
The new site will offer end-to-end solutions to our customers looking to manufacture biopharmaceuticals in the US. In addition to drug substance manufacture, it will also provide automated fill-finish and assembly, packaging, and labeling services. The new state-of-the-art facility is located in Holly Springs, North Carolina, United States.

The Sr. Supply Chain Planner 1 oversees the full life cycle of material management, while ensuring the operations of GMP Purchasing and Supply Chain Planning. The role leads collaboration with multiple departments to ensure the right materials are available at the right time, in the correct quantity to support GMP production. The Sr. Supply Chain Planner 1 clearly communicates expectations of delivery plans to Manufacturing, Process Science, Tech Transfer, and Quality. This role supports the operations of GMP Purchasing and Supply Chain Planning, including coordinating with the planning team and orchestrating associated tasks to start up and transitioning into commercial operations. The Sr. Supply Chain Planner 1 is expected to partner closely with all stakeholders across the FDB and Supply Chain teams to set up accurate master data for both material and production planning.
What You’ll Do
• Mentors the planning team and partners to ensure completion of tasks to start up while transitioning into commercial operations
• Develops the Production Plan and/or finite schedule that optimizes plant utilization of capacity and labor, and meets established inventory target levels
• Oversees the operations of GMP Purchasing and Supply Chain Planning to ensure that the right materials are available at the right time, in the
correct quantity to support GMP production
• Engages closely with purchasing to procure delivery of products needed for production
• Partners with the Tech Transfer team (internal/external), coordinating raw materials readiness
• Participates in and leads projects in areas such as inventory management and ERP systems
• Partners closely with all stakeholders at FDB to setup accurate master data for material and production planning in the SAP ERP system
• Creates Bill of Material (BOM) planned demand and conversion process orders
• Oversees process of creating process orders in SAP per the production schedule
• Interacts with multiple departments, including Finance, Process Science, Production, Quality Control, Warehouse, and Quality Assurance, to provide support in production needs, batch readiness, batch closure, and compliance that are critical for the end-to-end process
• Establishes clear expectations when collaborating on delivery plans with other departments
• Drives close engagement with the Sales &Operations team for demand and forecast review
• Identifies opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness, and capabilities of the supply chain
• Subject Matter Expert in Supply Chain processes and teams with strategic long-term planning
• Performs other duties, as assigned
Basic Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience in Supply Chain OR
• Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience in Supply Chain
• SAP S4/HANA or other SAP ERP system experience
• Experience with data management, Advanced Excel skills
Preferred Requirements
• GMP regulation experience
