Software Field Applications Engineer (FAE) is software technical lead for Broadcom ethernet controllers/Network Interface Cards targeted towards Enterprise, Server & Storage and AI/ML markets. Key responsibilities are to assist customers in qualifying and productizing Broadcom ethernet controllers/NIC solutions. This individual will be working on driver bring up in customer environment, optimizing drivers for optimal performance, helping customers bring up features like RDMA, RoCEv2, end-to-end congestion management, debug features that are not working as expected, providing patches for workarounds.

This position is part of field applications engineering team that's part of sales organization. Work with Field Sales Engineers and division marketing to increase demand for Broadcom controller products. Understand the customer's application in order to identify key technology and product features for next generation products. Besides customers, this individual will work very closely with engineering and factory applications team.

Desired skills include driver development, embedded software development, strong coding skills in C/C++, background with RDMA, high-performance networking technologies (RoCEv2, Ethernet), network architecture and network topologies, strong understanding of End-2-End congestion techniques, working experience on debugging Embedded Software, knowledge of HPC and AI/ML data center operational models, deep knowledge of Linux kernel and Linux kernel networking, ability to solve problems and implement solutions proactively, self-motivated and goal oriented, highly analytical and structured thinker, attention to detail and effective time management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience/Education:

Bachelor's degree preferred. Relevant year's experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $139,000 - $222,000 

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
