Job Description:

L3Harris Public Safety and Professional Communications (PSPC) sector has an availability for a Technical Trainer to join our team.

The Technical Trainer will be responsible for providing technical product training to both  internal and external customers. This includes identifying training needs, developing training plans, and delivering training. The Technical Trainer will also be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of training and making improvements as needed.

Essential Functions:

Design, develop, and deliver technical training on L3Harris land mobile radio (LMR) systems to end customersPrimary responsibility is to design and deliver both virtual and traditional classroom training on Network Switching Center components of the L3Harris P25 Radio SystemCollaborate with other functional areas as needed to design and develop Technical Training Plans and coursesUnderstand customer requirements and use-cases for L3Harris product applications and articulate technology and product positioning to our customersAct as a liaison between internal and external stake holders to define user requirements and shape product features to fit those needsResponsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees as neededOn-site training and travel accounts for 40% of all working days - Customer training will occur at the Technical Training center in Lynchburg, VA as well as international and domestic customer locations

Qualifications:

Bachelor's with 6 years prior experience, Graduate Degree with 4 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

A working knowledge of Public Safety communications and dispatching operationsKnowledge and experience implementing training programs using an instructional design methodologyInstructional Systems Design (ISD)Training certifiedExperience with integrated networks utilizing multiple operating systems, virtual machine management, and the integration of cybersecurity best practices for communication networksExperience with Cisco networking componentsInternet Protocol (IP) networking experienceA basic understanding of electronics theory and the ability to work with hardware components as requiredKnowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) basics and fundamentalsExperience using Microsoft Office Suite and Visio
