Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._ **Responsibilities:** GENERAL SUMMARY: The Sr. Solutions Architect proactively and holistically leads and supports Enterprise Architect (EA) activities to create solutions that utilize University-wide architecture and standards. Collaborates as a team member along with the service directors, architecture staff, and project managers supporting cross-functional architecture team members and subject matter experts to deliver the complete solution. The architect receives general guidance and has latitude for considerable judgment and initiative when working with subject matter experts and user communities to develop standards and solutions. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** + Leads evaluation, design and analysis for the implementation of a solutions architecture across specific business applications or technologies. Facilitates the evaluation and selection of software product standards and services, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations. Identifies organizational impact and financial impact of the solutions architecture. Takes action as needed based on outcome(s). + Works closely with project/program management to ensure the execution of plans correspond to specifications and requirements outlined throughout the project or product lifecycle. Provides deliverables such as standard definitions, reference models and architecture designs to help assess the impact of new and ongoing technology investment. Leads and participates in the prototyping of new tools and techniques for the development and operation of solutions. + Defines the principles, guidelines, standards and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision. Maintains the published repository of technical architectures. Recognizes opportunities and supports other architects in the development of specific technical, information and business standards. Monitors the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application or misalignment with business requirements. + Maintains current knowledge of the University’s architecture roadmaps, technology status of peer institutions and technology market landscape. Supports a community of practice, guiding and helping agile teams, product owners and application architects to align with the overall enterprise architecture governance and assurance. Recognizes emerging opportunities that should be explored through research or discussion. + Meets with key stakeholders and conducts research to understand business drivers and business capabilities, both future and current state, and determines corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements. Acts as a consultant on a broad range of technologies, platforms and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes. Other duties as assigned **QUALIFICATIONS** + Bachelor's degree in Information Sciences or equivalent required. + Graduate degree preferred. + 5 years of relevant experience required. + or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. + Experience in system development life cycle, business analysis, project management, systems integration, software development and/or the administration of service platforms, public/private cloud platforms, databases and networks preferred. + Deep and broad technical skills for service design and delivery, including infrastructure and application components required. + Ability to communicate clearly and facilitate discussions required. + Strong organizational and prioritization skills required. + Ability to design and implement a project schedule and knowledge of project management required. + Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment required. + Ability to recognize strategic business opportunities preferred. + Experience in system development life cycle, business analysis, project management, systems integration, software development and the administration of service platforms, public/private cloud platforms, databases, and networks, are desirable preferred. + Self-motivated and comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization. Candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment, able to design and implement a project schedule, and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast moving environment preferred. + TOGAF, ITIL or other architecture level certifications preferred.
