Sr Software Developer

The Senior Software Developer position will require hands-on code development, documentation of solution design, unit testing, and support and troubleshooting of defects and issues that arise. This position requires strong technical and analytical skills to review business processes and data, conduct functional and code analysis, and perform testing of code changes. This position will also involve production support, client support, and DevOps knowledge.

Location: Dallas, TX- Hybrid

Essential Functions:

Develop and support application software using the Java development languageWork in a software development life cycle environment o Work with business analysts and stakeholders to understand business requirements for development and data interfacesWork with other developers, business analysts, and solution vendors to translate requirements and develop functional code into deliverable solutionsWork with end users and the software testing team to perform unit, functional, and integration testing and validation prior to production implementationCommunicate software solutions to IT leadership and business stakeholders o Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems in a timely mannerWork in both Kanban and Scrum Agile environmentsContinually improve processes and solutions, seeking ways to use new tools, features, and capabilities

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, software development, or related field3+ years of experience as a Java DeveloperHigh level of proficiency in coding, Java, JavaScript, HTML, and XMLExperience with React or Angular is a plusKnowledge of relational and transactional databases and ability to write and analyze basic SQL queriesSound technical and analytical skillsExperience in an Agile development methodology a plusExperience with the Microsoft Azure DevOps platform a plusDetail oriented with the objective of delivering a solution to a problem in a timely and efficient mannerAbility to work in a team environment and with business team membersSelf-driven, willing to take initiative when an opportunity presents itselfStrong interpersonal and communication skillsExperience in the Property and Casualty Insurance industry a plusProficient with the standard software utilized in a business environment (MS Word, Excel, Visio, etc.)Must be able to work in a hybrid in-office and remote work environmentMust be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
