This position is passionate about service delivery excellence for Unity Lab Services! Specific activities relative to the job function include using our Inventory Manager (IM) system for order entry, order management, stockroom scanning, receipt of replenishment material, and stockroom maintenance. Engaging with the customer daily to provide updates on deliveries, potential shortages, expedited shipments, and possible new stockroom requests. Producing and updating reports through IM and Excel, to illustrate shortages, back orders and expedite requests.
Responsibilities:
Position responsibilities may include any of the below tasks or a combination of these tasks;
• Stockroom management, scanning, dispensing of products, and coordination of affiliated stockroom activities.
• Perform on-site program replenishments and disbursements.
• Perform stockroom duties to include receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, expediting, and other functions according to customer requirements.
• Provide customer service updates via verbal communication, email, and the use of whiteboards in our stockrooms if available.
• Act as the initial point of contact for items such as new material requests, stock-outs, or issues involving product quality.
• Frequent communication with customers, supervisor, and site sales representative.
• Promote a safe work environment through various safety initiatives within functional areas and completion of assigned training.
• Participate in individual or group projects that can include, cost savings analysis, learning groups, writing, job training methods, and leading team meetings.
• Report internal/external metrics to Site Supervisor/Manager
• Maintain safety awareness, by maintaining and or authoring work instructions, assisting with Job Hazard Assessments, and performing PPE assessments
• Provide technical expertise and training to other ULS staff
• Follow well-defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOP’s & work instructions. Take direction from Leadership regarding daily duties.
• Independently makes decisions and applies available resources to meet customer requirements.
• Analyzes/maintains/reconciles various reports to ensure internal and external requirements are met.
• Demonstrates proficiency at collecting, communicating and explaining job or site specific performance metrics
• Communicates any customer issues or potential problems
• Promotes personal growth and development by staying abreast of new policies and improvements without the presence of site trainer and management team
• Listens to customer concerns, effectively diffuses dissatisfaction, and quickly identifies course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround times
• Works optimally with a diverse cross-functional team
• Embraces Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies
• Access & use Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ Intranet and SharePoint document management system.
• Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations.
• Attend required training sessions.
• Participate in projects and perform additional tasks as assigned.
• Reads and understands GMP SOP’s and completes training when required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• 1 to 2 years of experience
• Must be detailed, a problem-solver, and provide quick resolution
• Must possess time management, organization, and decision-making skills
• High level written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills to harmonize with customers and various levels of the customer’s organizations
• Proactive in your approach to problem-solving and can operate independently in resolving a variety of routine and non-routine issues
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Experience in a laboratory setting or services preferred
• Must possess the operating skills to use hand-held scanners and learn to enter data in various systems
• Displays a high level of confidentiality for both customers and Thermo Fisher
• Must maintain Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ Four-I Values
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $21.42–$32.13.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
