The purpose of the Senior Quality Assurance Analyst -Games is to ensure our technology, particularly our games, deliver an extraordinary experience. They do so by thoroughly validating that changes meet business requirements, design criteria, and quality standards before being deployed to production environments, while fending off the robot apocalypse if necessary. You may be an expert in product areas from game design analysis to performance, engine or compliance. You’ll define and document more advanced test approaches, leveraging off-the-shelf tooling or designing your own. This expert is expected to lead larger or more complex test engagements, owning everything from test planning, case creation strategy, and reporting. **Job Responsibilities** + Develop test plans and tests that validate new features ensuring thorough coverage of gameplay, graphics, and performance. Verify consistent operation of existing functionality and identify weaknesses/concerns in usability.Maintain appropriately detailed Test Cases, Test Suites, and Test Plans in a Test Management tool. (20% TIME) + Collaborate with the development and product team to understand game mechanics and identify potential issues. Includes participating in playtesting sessions, providing insights on gameplay experience and usability. Partner with cross functional teams to develop, understand, and update requirements for game controls and related product features. (20% TIME) + Drive day-to-day functional processes with an eye towards continuous improvement, including accurate estimates, appropriate testing. (20% TIME) + Reveal, identify, document and track issues as they arise. Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to cross functional teams, deployment teams, and managers. (15% TIME) + Maintain high awareness of quality and performance, addressing failures as necessary, always keeping in mind impacts across live production environments and any unique attributes they possess. (15% TIME) + Coordinate and participate in performing any applicable maintenance to tools used in Testing and resolve issues if any exist. (10% TIME) **Critical Skills & Experience Requirements** + Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field. Equivalent years of experience acceptable. (Required) + QA Certification such as ISTQB, ASTQB, CSTE, CSQA, CAST. (Preferred) + 5+ Years game testing experience - manual required, automation preferred. (Required) + 2+ Years proven experience in leading testing efforts for multiple game projects through the full development lifecycle in a fast paced environment. (Required) + 2+ Years strong understanding of game design principles and mechanics and familiarity with Unity game engine. (Required) + 2+ Years experience testing API and web services, including writing simple SQL scripts to retrieve and validate data. (Required) + 2+ Years experience with Git source control. (Required) + 2+ Years maintaining QA test lab and/or virtual environments. (Required) + 1+ Year of designing, development, and implementation of QA standards and processes (Required) + 1+ Year of familiarity with scripting languages or automation tools is a plus (Preferred) + Possess a strong understanding of the discipline of test case management for creation of repeatable, concise, clear test exercises for evidence of testing. + Ability to adapt and respond to an ever-changing landscape. + Motivated, self-starting, and eager to learn, with a passion for gaming. + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are key – a proven ability to spot glitches in The Matrix. + Communication expert with the ability to convey technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of audiences. + Strong ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.Expertise in herding all variety of cats, such as working with Developers at all stages to promote quality code and working with project/product owners to drive balance between future business needs and immediate business goals. + Deep functional expertise, including multiple methodologies and tools, and ongoing awareness of evolution within the industry that breeds innovation across the team. + Ability to analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment to determine its intended functionality. + A passion for curating and sharing knowledge of quality assurance best practices.
