Sr ProjectWise Engineer Tech Analyst

LOCATION

This is an onsite position assigned to Parnall office located in Jackson, MI.  The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package available to those who qualify).

GENERAL SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Engineering Technical Analyst is responsible for the development and enhancement of standards and materials, including emerging technologies while continuing to meet all applicable regulatory rules and codes and solving problems for different work groups within compliance of all applicable rules. The incumbent requires communication of these standards and direction to both engineers and operations in a concise manner that allows precise application of the standards and technology. The Senior Engineering Technical Analyst will lead moderately complex projects and ensure they are completed according to plan and budget.

The Sr Engineer Tech Analyst is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and administrative support of the Engineering Content Management solution (ProjectWise) for record/information lifecycle management.  The Analyst works with business process owners and vendor to determine and implement appropriate system modifications or integration of systems to meet business requirements and provides technical support to Gas Engineering and Operations users and training on the ProjectWise technology. The Analyst will performing ProjectWise related activities such as installing, configuring, and troubleshooting the software; and staying current with upgrades, updates and patches.  They will be responsible for troubleshooting systems related to ProjectWise Infrastructure in partnership with IT.  The position will support coordinating and running development, testing and releases.  They have responsibility of setting up ProjectWise components Renditions, Workflow, Deliverable Management etc.  Analysts are responsible for leading the adoption of our ProjectWise and engagement with users for all aspects of their business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Comprehensive understanding of electronic document management with strong emphasis on engineering design Lead and/or assist with engineering projects to include design, inspections, system planning, specifications, reports, maps, environmental impacts, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, surveying, easements, data collection, construction observation, and field investigation Assist in the scope document process, project cost-estimates, project meetings, and closeout estimates Respond to incident investigations, responsible for causal analysis/incident reports Provide timely correspondence to external regulatory agencies Perform advanced research and development that leads to issuing updates to engineering and construction standards, manuals, design tools and documents that are used across the business to ensure compliance with laws and regulations Develop and maintain documentation processes associated with integrated systems including hardware, applications, protocols, detailed point lists and revision control Address complex concerns, investigate suggestions, and provide support, direction, and recommendations to the multi work groups effected Approve highly complex construction prints, work instructions, and procedures Other duties as assigned or may be necessary KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Ability to research and understand advanced industry trends and provide utility benchmarking Communication and Presentation Skills Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMs, etc.) Teamwork, analytical thinking, and willingness to learn new topics Knowledge of Lean Methods/Tools Ability to manage multiple conflicting projects and priorities simultaneously EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in in a technical or related field with four (4) or more years of experience supporting advanced engineering work and/or projects (OR) Associate’s degree in in a technical or related field with six (6) or more years of experience supporting advanced engineering work and/or projects (OR)High school diploma with eight (8) or more years of experience supporting advanced engineering work and/or projects PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Experience with software or application configuration management, software architecture/design, user requirements definition, software specification development, software development, coding and compilation, testing aptitude Experience implementing and/or configuring ProjectWise Product knowledge of ProjectWise or similar Document Management Systems such as: SharePoint, Documentum, Vault, Aconex, etc. Knowledge of document control/records management processes and related technical support Programming experience with languages such as PowerShell Working knowledge of SQL databases and SQL scripting Experience with software deployment processes and best practices
