Sr Process Engineer

We’re seeking a dynamic and focused Senior Process Engineer in Appleton, WI who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. Join us, and you’ll have the opportunity to design and develop state-of-the-art facilities for clients in diverse markets such as specialty chemicals, industrial fermentation, pulp and paper, batteries, and electric vehicles. As you lead a team of process engineers, you’ll be accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks while gaining familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. You’ll work with a multi-discipline, highly interactive team to establish a process design basis, develop an optimized process, create models and calculations, and generate process drawings. You’ll also have the chance to utilize your technical expertise to mentor junior team members and help your team discover what drives them, nurturing their purpose and guiding them forward. This position will: * Perform conceptual and detailed design for diverse industries such as specialty chemicals, pulp and paper, or batteries. * Use best practices and industry knowledge to solve complex engineering problems. * Interface with other disciplines, project management, and the client to provide fully coordinated projects. * Support field construction efforts, including reviewing submittals, responding to questions from clients and contractors, and performing field walks. * Perform quality reviews on designs performed by others. * Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on basic engineering applications and principles. * Participate in the development of proposals, budgets, and schedules for process-specific work. * Bring your curiosity, talent for multi-tasking and collaboration, and proven communication and organizational skills and we’ll help you grow, pursue, and fulfill what drives you - so we can make big impacts on the world, together. * Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering * At least 15+ years of experience working on manufacturing projects * Minimum 5+ years of experience in engineering design as a facilities/plant engineer or as a consulting engineer * Working knowledge of modeling and design tools such as ASPEN-HYSYS, PipeFlo, AFT Fathom, HTRI, WinGems, SmartPlant, and Bluebeam Ideally, you’ll also have: * Strong communication skills, both verbal and written * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Forward-thinking mindset, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas * Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and be driven to broaden knowledge base * Ability to work independently for core tasks and reach out for specialized expertise * Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams with members based in various regions * Passion for engineering and developing solutions * Willingness to travel At Jacobs, we help prepare people for new opportunities and challenges.
