We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer – Signal Processing with one of our premier programs within the Mission Solutions business unit. As a senior team member of a dynamic and multidiscipline development team, your responsibilities will span the development and fielding life cycle from initial concept definition through detailed design, development, and qualification testing and into fielding and customer support. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background with experience in radio frequency (RF) communications links and systems, algorithm prototyping/modeling, Electronic Warfare (EW) waveform design, and software-defined radios.
What You Will Do
Define tasking/milestones and work with the team lead to ensure adherence to budgets, plans, and schedules
Provide expert guidance and consulting to other team members as well as work as an individual contributor
Assist with establishing and maintaining the program technical baseline as it relates to signal processing
Provide technical direction and clarification of requirements and design to systems engineers, software development teams and integration and test personnel
Support technical interchange meetings with program management and the customer and represent the organization in matters related to signal processing
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Systems, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field and minimum 10+ years of prior relevant experience
Active Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Experience with waveform design and modulation theory applications as well as satellite RF links (modulation, Doppler effects, link budgets. Multiple access techniques, etc.)
Strong experience using Matlab or related languages for signal prototyping and simulation as well as working with front-end processors, radio transceivers, communication satellites and their ground terminals
High level of integrity and strong work ethic and experience establishing and maintaining good working relationships with all levels of the organization, including Government customer, IPT leadership, and support organizations
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Project, PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
Must be willing and able to travel as required (~10%)
Qualifications We Prefer
Practical experience with, and theoretical knowledge of, antennas used for satellite communications
Experience with signal detection in challenging RF environments and spread spectrum (direct sequence and frequency hopped) theory and application
Experience with the design and/or operations of Electronic Warfare (EW) systems
Experience creating efficient implementations in software
Ability to work with and mentor younger engineers
Masters Degree or higher in Engineering, Science or Mathematics

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
